‘Encanto’ Takes Over Iconic Disney Park Attraction
Calling all Encanto (2021) fans! The popular Walt Disney Animation Studios film is preparing to take over the iconic Disney Park attraction, “it’s a small world.”
Even though it’s been over a year since Disney first released the animated film Encanto, its popularity is still strong! The film has inspired a new franchise for The Walt Disney Company with its endless merchandise, a Mirabel meet and greet and parade presence, a renewed sing-along version of Encanto on Disney+, and even more Encanto presence in the Disney Parks.
It was first reported that the musical talent behind Encanto, Lin-Manuel Miranda, had spoken with the former Disney CEO Bob Chapek about the possibility of an Encanto attraction within the Disney theme parks. Then at the September 2022 D23 Expo, it was announced during Disney’s “what if” session that there could be a possible Encanto attraction coming to Magic Kingdom Park, which would feature the Madrigal family’s stunning Casita.

The Magic Kingdom addition would be part of a Park expansion behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Additionally, Disney spoke of Coco (2017) and Villains’ inspired lands near this Encanto attraction. With the unfolding announcements during the “what if” session, Disney gave no concrete construction start or opening timeframes.

And while we are seeing possible additions of Encanto move into the planning stages at Walt Disney World Resort, Encanto touches are already being added at Disneyland Resort.
In April 2022, it was announced that for a limited time, Encanto projection, along with the hit song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” would take place on the iconic “it’s a small world” attraction at Disneyland Park. Well, this “limited time” takeover is coming BACK!
