Walt Disney Animation is known for its classic films depicting timeless fairy tales and wishful dreams come true. Disney is also known for its ability to make us fall in life-long love with characters we never knew existed, like those in Disney’s Frozen and Big Hero 6.

But few Disney films have captured our hearts as quickly as Encanto, which debuted in November 2021 at the box office and during the 2021 Christmas holidays on the Disney+ streaming platform.

The story of the Family Madrigal in the hills of Colombia evokes a wide array of emotions in those who know and love the Disney film. We laugh, we cry, we get angry, we feel empathy–and all in less than two hours–as we watch Encanto and share it with friends and family. It’s just that good.

Apparently, the execs at Disney World felt the same way about the film, as Mirabel Madrigal–the so-called “unspecial” family member (don’t believe it; she’s one of the most special family members of all) has finally made her way to Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort.

In late June, Disney Parks Blog shared the exciting news that Mirabel would be arriving soon at Magic Kingdom, along with some of our most beloved Disney friends:

Let’s kick things off with some exciting news for Magic Kingdom Park. We may not talk about Bruno, but we can definitely talk about Mirabel making her debut in the “Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade” on June 26! The young hero from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit film “Encanto” will join Miguel from “Coco,” Nick and Judy from “Zootopia,” Max, Goof, Moana, and more as this super-sized cavalcade winds through the park several times each day.

Looking ahead to July, the always iconic Minnie Mouse will join Mickey Mouse starting on July 6 in Town Square Theater at Magic Kingdom Park. Both will be ready for hugs and photos in their EARidescent fashions designed specifically for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration!

July 6 also marks the return of Chip ‘N Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, where you can join the nutty friends for a campfire celebration followed by a classic Disney movie under the stars. Then, on July 10, keep an eye out for familiar Fantasyland friends Peter Pan and Snow White as they greet guests at Magic Kingdom Park once again.

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom can see Mirabel in the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade, which currently takes place a couple of times each day along the park’s parade route, beginning in Frontierland and weaving through Liberty Square down to Main Street, U. S. A.

The Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade is a fun, interactive showcase of some of Disney films’ most daring, courageous, and unique characters. In addition to Mirabel, Guests can also see the following characters:

  • Nick and Judy from Zootopia
  • Baloo and King Louie from The Jungle Book
  • José Carioca and Panchito from The Three Caballeros
  • Miguel from Coco
  • Merida from Brave
  • Moana from Moana
  • The Incredibles

There are more characters than these, but this line-up alone is exciting! Be sure to catch the cavalcade during your next visit to Magic Kingdom!
