The holiday season is well underway at Walt Disney World Resort. With festivities taking place throughout all four theme parks, Disney Springs, and Disney Resort Hotels, it’s a joyous time to be a Disney Guest. But, in the middle of the beloved EPCOT Candlelight Processional, a Chapek-bashing comment has taken over the headlines.

The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is drawing in the crowds. Not only can Disney Park Guests enjoy delicious holiday-themed bites, sips, and shopping, but Guests can also experience the ever-so-popular Candlelight Processional.
This retelling of the Christmas story and the birth of Jesus Christ is an EPCOT tradition that includes a talented choir, instruments, and celebrity narrators.

From December 15 to December 18, 2022, Neil Patrick Harris, a popular actor, writer, and host, was the special celebrity narrator.
With former Disney CEO Bob Chapek gone, Disney has welcomed the return of CEO Bob Iger to clean up the “Chapek-era” mess. Well, Neil Patrick Harris took his moment in the spotlight to draw attention to the big Disney news.
@ScottGustin took to social media on December 18, 2022, to share a brief clip of Neil Patrick Harris welcoming Guests during EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional. Harris states, “Welcome to tonight’s performance of the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. EPCOT …. an acronym … and I’m pretty sure the C doesn’t stand for “Chapek.”
The Chapek bash shocked the audience and social media.
But how do you suppose Neil Patrick Harris celebrated his performance at the Candlelight Processional? He went to EPCOT’s beloved tequila bar, La Cava del Tequila, in the Mexico Pavilion.
Neil Patrick Harris has had a close relationship with this favorite Disney lounge of his. There is actually a drink located at the bar known as the legendary Black Magic Margarita, which was created by Neil Patrick Harris.
So, to celebrate his Chapek-bashing comment, Harris went to La Cava after his performance.
La Cava Del Tequila (@cavadeltequila) took to social media to share, “At La Cava, every Guest is special. But after the inspired @ActuallyNPH performance at Candlelight Processional, we have officially saved him a seat at his favorite table. Neil’s always welcome, and so are you! Come enjoy a margarita!”
Good choice, Harris! La Cava del Tequila is one of the BEST lounges on Walt Disney World property. Disney describes the experience with:
“Imbibe “the essence of Mexico” with over 200 tequilas, top-shelf cocktails, Mexican beer and wine. Take off with a tequila flight or a wild passion fruit margarita. Light snacks such as guacamole and queso with corn chips are served.”
As Harris enjoys his tequila, the Disney fandom is split. Some believe the Candlelight Processional was a poor choice for a time to mention Bob Chapek. Others saw Harris’ comment as a welcomed one. Either way, we do agree with Neil Patrick Harris that if visiting EPCOT, a stop at La Cava is a must!
