Disney Fab 50 Mickey & Minnie Statues Dedicated to Cast Members

With roughly two weeks away from Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration beginning October 1, Disney is unveiling all sorts of excitement! Soon enough Guests will scavenger hunt through each theme Park including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom to virtually “collect” golden Disney character sculptures on Instagram. The experience is called the “Disney Fab 50” character collection. Sculptures have already begun to pop up around the Parks including the first additions arriving at Magic Kingdom, and six stunning sculptures landing at EPCOT. Now, Jeff Vahle, the President of Walt Disney World Resort, took to social media to share the sweet news that the Disney “Fab 50” character sculptures of Mickey and Minnie are dedicated to Cast Members.

As shared via Instagram by Jeff Vahle just in time for the Resort’s 50th Anniversary: “It’s such an exciting time as we head toward the 50th! George A. Kalogridis and I had a great time yesterday with some of our more than 65,000 Walt Disney World Cast Members when we dedicated statues of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Next week, we will celebrate our 50-year Cast with a special party just for them and also wrap up distribution of the new EARidescent nametags. No better way to celebrate the people who are now, have been, and always will be the heart and soul of this place!” Vahle shared the following photos with his post:

The plaque pictured below states: Walt Disney World Cast Members have always been the heart of our magic. These statues of Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse are dedicated to celebrating Cast Members past, present and future. Thank you for making Walt Disney’s dream a reality. Dedicated this 15th day of September 2021.
