The unrest and continuous demonstrations of protesting Cast Members at Disneyland theme park in Paris have escalated in the past few days. The negotiations have been happening for months, and Cast Member pushback has successfully gotten multiple parades, shows, and other entertainment canceled. Just a few days ago, protesting Cast Members literally stormed Sleeping Beauty castle. Guests are NOT happy with how The Walt Disney Company is handling the situation.
This is why the announcement of a brand-new show seems tone-deaf in the wake of current events. Nevertheless, here’s the info on Disneyland Paris’ new “musical extravaganza.”
NEW Pixar Musical Announced At Disneyland Paris
Starting July 15, Disneyland Paris’ Walt Disney Studios Park will begin performances of a brand new stage show called TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure. Debuting this summer, the Disneyland Paris original show is said to be an “immersive” experience for Guests featuring some Pixar favorite characters. Exclusive to the Studio Theater stage in Disney’s Paris theme park, TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure will feature a live orchestra.
Disney Calls the journey “spectacular and poetic” that values how “music and friendship bring us together.” It will feature stories and characters from Disney/Pixar‘s Toy Story films, Coco (2017), Up (2009), Monsters, Inc. (2001), and Finding Nemo (2003). The theme echoes with irony amidst Disney’s inability to settle its worker’s higher pay and indemnity requests. Maybe, everyone should try using music and friendship?
Disneyland Shares Exclusive First Look at the Costumes for New Show
Perhaps in an attempt at further promotional distraction, Disneyland Paris shared an exclusive first look at some of the costumes that will be featured in TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure. Their Twitter post shows designs and costume pieces for DĂa de los Muertos characters from Coco. Guests can expect colorful costumes and ornate skulls masks in the Mexican tradition.
While the shared photos only offer a glimpse into the costume design for the Coco sections of the musical, audiences can also expect “bold artistic direction that blends traditional and state-of-the-art technology, creative lighting, multisensory effects and contemporary choreography” combined with familiar film music within the shows own original score.
The high-quality show is set the perform five times a day at Walt Disney Studios Park.
Disneyland Paris promises that TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure will reinforce “the resort’s position as a leader of entertainment in Europe.” While this statement may have been true at one time, it certainly won’t ring true if the strikes aren’t sorted out soon.
In the meantime, Guests and Cast Members alike continue to be disgusted by Disney Parks.
