Fan-Favorite Pixar Film to Become a Stage Musical on Broadway

Between Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, it’s no secret that one Disney Park celebrates the beauty of other cultures more than the rest.

Walt Disney World’s EPCOT is home to four different neighborhoods, one of which is dedicated to celebrating other countries’ themes and cultures (World Showcase). As a whole, the Disney Park’s themes are working together to create a better world for all by appreciating nature, different cultures, and what’s to come in the future.

This year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Arts began on January 13th and will end on February 20th. As a part of this year’s Festival of the Arts, EPCOT is presenting the Disney on Broadway Concert Series.

A few times a day, actors and actresses who have starred in Disney Broadway adaptations perform classic Disney songs for the audience. However, one recent performance was more memorable than the rest.

Last night (January 24th), Broadway stars Mandy Gonzalez (Aida) and L. Steven Taylor (The Lion King) were performing together when Taylor announced to the audience, “Coco is now in development at Disney on Broadway to become a live stage show.” Then, Gonzalez sang “Remember Me,” the simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking song from Coco (2017).
