6 Things To Do On Your Last Day At Walt Disney World

We all dread our last Walt Disney World vacation day. So, why not try to make it your BEST Disney day? Whether you want to spend it in the parks, resorts, or somewhere else on property, here are six ways to finish off your Disney vacation with a bang!

1) Take advantage of Extra Magic Hours

To all my night owls out there, this one is for you. One of the Disney parks in Florida has extra magic hours each day. (Check waltdisneyworld.com for more information on specific dates.) On the last day of your Disney vacation take advantage of these late hours! Most of the parks will stay open to midnight, 1, or even 2 AM during the holiday season and the summer! The extra magic hours are great for riding your favorite rides that are super busy during the day. There’s no better way to squeeze in a few more memories before it’s time to head back home.

 2) Watch your favorite nighttime fireworks show

Do you like Fantasmic, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, Epcot Forever, or Happily Ever After? Or better yet, does it give you chill bumps just thinking about them? (I’m guilty of that one for sure.) To finish out your vacation with a literal “bang,” make a plan to catch your favorite nighttime spectacular that Walt Disney World has to offer. There’s nothing quite as magical as watching Walt Disney World fireworks to end your Disney vacation.

3) Visit Disney Springs

For all of my shopaholics out there, this one is for you. Whether you want to bring the whole family or go for a ladies night out, head over to Disney Springs for dinner and some last-minute shopping! In Disney Springs, you’ll find new shops and restaurants as well as your classic favorites!

4) Dine at your favorite restaurant

This is one way to save the best for last. Although it’s hard to choose just one favorite, make a reservation to dine at your most-loved restaurant on the last day of your vacation? That way you have something to look forward to, which makes leaving the “happiest place on earth” a little more bearable.

5) Last-minute marshmallows

For an unforgettable last night on Disney property, visit our favorite chipmunks at Chip ‘N Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long located at Fort Wilderness. Even better… this experience is free! Another suggestion would be to take a stroll around the grounds of the Animal Kingdom Resort. Not only will you spot giraffes, zebra, and ostriches at the Jambo House, but also at Kidani Village. (Which is definitely worth taking the trip over there.) And, you and your family can enjoy complementary marshmallows for roasting over the outdoor fire pits on the Animal Kingdom Lodge grounds. What’s the best part of this? You are allowed to roast as many mallows as you want! Talk about a great end to your vacation!

6) Trying something new

If you’re feeling brave or adventurous, try something new on your last day! Why not take a stroll on the Boardwalk, take a Behind-The-Scenes Tour, or eat at a restaurant you’ve never experienced? Sometimes the best memories are the unplanned ones that take us by surprise!
