New 2025 Update Promises More Disney Resort Hotels Coming Soon

Tokyo Disney Resort is taking bold steps to meet the growing demand for accommodations with a new plan focused on expanding its resort hotel offerings. The Oriental Land Company (OLC), which operates Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea under license from The Walt Disney Company, revealed these developments in its 2035 Long-term Management Strategy document. According to the plan, OLC is prioritizing the addition of new Disney Resort hotels over expanding its theme park footprint in the coming decade.

OLC’s strategy emphasizes the need to expand Tokyo Disney Resort’s hotel offerings, which are already experiencing high occupancy rates. “Further unmet demand [would] be fulfilled” by adding a range of new hotels across various categories, including Luxury, Deluxe, Moderate, and Value types. Currently, the Japanese resort offers a total of 3,483 rooms across several hotels, such as the Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel, the Disney Ambassador Hotel, the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, and the Toy Story Hotel. The resort’s high occupancy rate (around 95%) indicates a strong demand for more rooms.

The 2025 update also reveals that OLC plans to enhance its Vacation Packages for international guests. These packages bundle stays at Disney Resort hotels with theme park tickets and additional perks such as exclusive merchandise, restaurant vouchers, and attraction tickets. OLC is also exploring ways to increase the average spend per guest by expanding its offerings and services, such as Disney Premier Access, which allows guests to skip regular attraction lines at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

In addition to the hotel expansions, OLC is looking into revamping classic Adventureland attractions with new experiences inspired by Pixar’s Up (2009) and The Incredibles (2004). The company has also discussed the possibility of adding another Disney Cruise Line ship to Japan, further cementing Tokyo Disney Resort’s role as a global destination.
