Disney Fans Have Spoken: This Is the Worst Restaurant at Disney World
When Walt Disney first opened Disneyland, he didn’t have the capacity to handle both food and attractions simultaneously. So, he delegated the food services to those who were already in the industry.
That means for years, the offerings at Disney Parks were…limited. Your choices came down to the usual food at fairs and carnivals: burgers, hot dogs, etc.
However, in the past few decades, Disney’s food has vastly improved, especially at the Walt Disney World Resort. As Disney World added new parks, new restaurants entered, and guests saw a great improvement in the offerings.
There is a legitimate argument to be had over which Disney World restaurant offers the best food. Each Disney fan has their go-to spot, and there’s no telling them that their favorite isn’t the best Disney World offers.
While there may be no way to come to a consensus on the best restaurant, Disney guests have a way to determine the worst: Yelp Reviews. Yelp uses a five-star system to rate restaurants and guest reviews. While several Disney World restaurants tied for the best, only one had the lowest rating: The Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom.
The Diamond Horseshoe opened as the Diamond Horseshoe Review on Magic Kingdom’s opening day. It is based on the Golden Horseshoe Revue at Disneyland.
While the restaurant has undergone several iterations during its 50-plus years, guests think it needs a dramatic menu change. One guest wrote:
Going to this restaurant was the worst thing that happened on our Disney trip.
After COVID, the Diamond Horseshoe revamped its menu to be nearly the same as the Liberty Tree Tavern. Despite that, guests still complained the food was “cold” and “mediocre.”
On the opposite end of the spectrum, several Disney World restaurants scored above 4.7 stars on Yelp. Those were Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom, Space 220 at EPCOT, and Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom.
So, Yelp users have had their say; what do you think about their ratings?
