My friends, were are only a summer away from the spooky season, which will be followed directly by the winter season holidays. Luckily Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas helps us celebrate the two seasons seamlessly at Disney Parks.
Ah! There have already been a ton of special announcements for both Halloween and end-of-the-year holiday celebrations, but this new one truly mashes Christmas with Halloween for those who don’t want to decide.
This morning, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida announced a brand new holiday party they will be throwing this November and December at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. The after-hours event, called Disney Jollywood Nights, will include a Jazz lounge, a live holiday show with Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, and a nighttime spectacular. They’ll also be fun character meet and greets!
It JUST dropped that The Nightmare Before Christmas will play a big role in the holiday entertainment as well! Tom Vazzana, creative director with Disney Live Entertainment, revealed on stage that a Nightmare Before Christmas singalong is coming! It will take place at the Hyperion Theater, current home of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the new Disney Jollywood Nights.
Vazzana announced,
We’re going to transform the whole theater. We’re going to dress all the walls. We’re changing out all the scenery. Like that! To bring this slightly darkly delicious, surreal singalong from Tim Burton’s mind. Two performers – two Tim Burton fans are going to take you on this wild ride and we’re going to singalong to ‘What’s This?,’ ‘Kidnap the Sandy Claws,’ AND, if you sing loud enough and strong enough, it’s going to snow! There’s going to be fog! Jack Skellington will appear and so will Oogie Boogie for What’s This?: Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas Singalong here at Hollywood Studios!
A stage singalong with two ‘narrators,’ snow and fog effects, and the appearance of two film characters…is pretty much a copy and paste of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, with a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. But hey, I’m still here for it.
From Arendelle to Halloween Town, it is!
Happy summer, happy Halloween, and happy holidays to all!
