Disneyland Resort in Anaheim debuted a brand new stage show this past June 30th at its California Adventure theme park, and it is the first of its kind. Guests and Marvel fans have been lining up, physically and on the Disneyland app, to experience Disneyland’s Rogers: The Musical at the Hyperion Theater. It turns out that this satirical look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the life of Captain America/ Steve Rogers isn’t as exclusive to the California Disney Park as creators may like.
The half-hour musical comedy follows the timeline of Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and Avengers (2012) and features Peggy Carter, Nick Fury, a female trio chorus, and the other Avengers. Disneyland’s Rogers: The Musical started as a joke on the pilot episode of the Marvel Disney+ series Hawkeye (starring Jeremey Renner) and gained so much fan love that the Walt Disney Company couldn’t ignore the chance to capitalize.
Luckily, even though the show is made like a New York Broadway musical, Marvel fans don’t have to travel to either coast to watch the California Adventure-based musical! It’s been uploaded to YouTube and can be enjoyed from the privacy of your own home! The show itself has a limited engagement at Disneyland, but Disney fans can watch Rogers: The Musical forever as long as it doesn’t get taken down.
It’s not totally clear if the video of the show is allowed to be shared online or not, but it seems unlikely. However, the quality is magnificent. So check out the link below and see the Captain America show ASAP, in case it doesn’t last!
You’ll hear songs by Disney legend Alan Menken, Nick Fury belting his eye-patched face off, a pretty amazing Steve Rogers glow-up, and the fan-favorite number “Save the City” that made Clint Barton turn off his hearing aid. Maybe the video can hold you over until you are able to visit California Adventure and see Disneyland’s Rogers: The Musical in person.
