Get ready to virtual queue because Disneyland Resort in California is about to debut the most powerful stage show on this side of the universe! Marvel fans across the country are leaping at the chance to see some of their favorite superheroes belt their hearts out in a tongue-in-cheek retelling of some epic battles. Get ready for Rogers: The Musical at the Hyperion Theater in Disney California Adventure.
Featuring the star sheild, the yellow Broadway marquee for Rogers: The Musical parodies that of the smash musical hit Hamilton. This time Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America, is the American hero. The concept for an Avengers-style musical appeared cheekily in the pilot episode of the Disney+ series Hawkeye (2021), starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld. Clint Barton, AKA Hawkeye, isn’t thrilled with the stage adaptation’s wild performance and cheesy lyrics recounting Steve Rogers’ life.
However, tons of Marvel fans were! And now Disneyland is putting their faith in a complimentary virtual queue to efficiently file excited Guests into the first showings of the Disney Park production of Rogers: The Musical on June 30. The show will go on multiple times a day, Tuesdays through Saturdays, most weeks from June 30 to August 31.
How to Get in the Virtual Queue for Rogers: The Musical
While getting in the virtual queue is not required, it will be utilized for the viewing areas until the space is full. Disney “highly recommends” using it. Distribution begins ONLY on the Disneyland app at 10:30 am Pacific Time for the first two shows and at 2 pm Pacific Time for the rest of the showtimes. Guests in the virtual queue will not be able to choose a preferred showtime but will be assigned one based on their spot in line.
Securing a spot in the virtual queue is not guaranteed, depending on how full it already is. After trying to join the queue, the screen should refresh and indicate if you have a place in line or not. The physical queue opens about 30 to 40 minutes before showtime, and this is when the virtual queue will direct Guests to head to the theater and get in the physical line. Guests can only join the cue after entering Disney California Adventure Park or Disneyland Park with a valid ticket.
A physical standby queue will be available on a “first-come, first-served basis if capacity allows.”
Fingers crossed that the Disneyland app is more reliable than Walt Disney World’s My Disney Experience app…or the Disney website during high traffic.
Check out the Captain America-themed snacks that will be available in honor of Rogers: The Musical’s debut, whether you’re virtual queuing or not!
