‘Rogers: The Musical’ Disneyland Debut Date Announced

Avengers fans and musical theater lovers assemble! Your time to shine is finally here. Rogers: The Musical officially comes to Disneyland’s California Adventure Park for a limited time this summer on June 30!

The inventive production sets Marvel’s top heroes amidst a tongue-in-cheek musical world full of action-packed song and dance. The concept gained popularity after appearing in the pilot episode of the Disney+ series Hawkeye (2021), starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld. While Clint Barton, AKA Hawkeye, isn’t thrilled with the stage adaptation of Steve Rogers’ life, the wild performance and cheesy lyrics tickled Marvel fans.

Some highlights include the Loki character’s top hat with horns, the super noticeable wires helping Iron Man fly, the lyrics referring to Haweye as a “really nice guy,” and, of course, the Hulk’s angelic “SMASH!” Also, Ant-Man is there for no reason. I’m barely scratching the surface here. This number is a true parody of the ultra-dramatic stakes in the movies.

Check it out here! (Captain America and the Avengers enter around the 2:33 mark.)

As a part of the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort, the 30-minute show will play at the Hyperion Theater and feature characters like the titular Steve Rogers, his lady love Peggy Carter, and even the stoic Nick Fury. The story follows the rise of Captain America, from Steve’s start in World War II to his adventures after teaming up with the Avengers.

Marvel reports that fans can expect five new original songs (!!), the “Save the City” number featured in Hawkeye, and the original song “Star Spangled Man” from Captain America: The First Avenger. The music for that last one is by Disney legend Alan Menken! Think Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), The Little Mermaid (1989), Pocahontas (1995), Tangled (2010), and more.

The above images is concept art for the production. With poignant lyrics like “If the city is trashed when you take you bow, we’ll blame you then, but you’re good for now,” do we have a Broadway show in the making here? Somebody call New York City.

Catch the limited-time engagement of Rogers: The Musical at Disney’s California Adventure Park Tuesdays through Saturdays starting June 30. It could truly be the most powerful musical to ever smash into the Disney Parks.

(At the moment Marvel character experiences are not available at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Avengers Campus is only located in the California Adventure Park in Disneyland.)

About Lana Porter

Lana has never lost a Disney Trivia night. Maybe it’s the hundreds of times she’s been to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, her love for Disney’s ’90’s era hand-animated musicals, or the fact that she’s often likened to cartoon characters, but Disney and its magic have a special place in her heart. Her favorite Disney experiences include the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, eating Mickey Bars on the PeopleMover, and crying during the Magic Kingdom fireworks show. One day she hopes to be chosen as the rebel spy on Star Tours. When Lana isn’t Park Hopping, she’s at home reading books of all topics, watching her favs on Disney+, or snuggling her two cats, which she swears are not named after Disney characters. She loves surprising people with her knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but admits she is still catching up with Star Wars. She is happy to combine her excitement for writing with her love for Disney-style storytelling and share what she can with the world!
