Universal Studios Orlando is in the midst of opening a major new attraction, but top-secret information still remains classified.
Home to both Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Park, Universal Orlando Resort welcomes in millions of Guests each and every year. Guests are able to enjoy a wide array of thrilling rides, immersive experiences, and live entertainment, all inspired by popular movies, TV shows, and characters. Universal Studios Florida is dedicated to showcasing the magic of the movies, allowing Guests to step into the worlds of beloved films and television shows.
From The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to The Simpsons Ride, visitors can experience iconic attractions that bring their favorite on-screen adventures to life.
Of course, one of the most exciting developments happening at Universal Studios Florida is the opening of Minion Land inside the theme park. Construction on the area has been going on for a little more than a year and now we have major news to share on the all-new attraction Villain-Con Minion Blast.
During the attraction, Universal Guests will join Illumination’s Minions, Belle Bottom, Jean Clawed, and the rest of the Vicious 6 at Villain-Con as you blast your way to supervillain stardom. Use your E-Liminator X blaster and test your skill in this fun, interactive attraction.

While the attraction has soft-opened to Guests as Technical Rehearsals take place, Universal Orlando Resort has asked that there be no filming or pictures on the ride. This is a way to keep the attraction top-secret until its official opening. For now, we expect that Technical Rehearsals will continue for the next few weeks before an official opening happens.
Minion Land is also home to Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, Bake My Day sweet treats, Minion Cafe, Freeze Ray Pops, and much more. Illumination Theatre, which is set to open later this summer, will be your destination for many exciting character meet and greets, as well.
In addition to the theme parks, Universal Orlando Resort also features a vibrant entertainment district known as Universal CityWalk. This lively area offers a wide range of dining, shopping, and entertainment options, including restaurants, nightclubs, theaters, and unique shops.
