There is nothing more fun than shopping for new Disney merchandise. Except for when Disney merch crosses over in a collaboration with one of your favorite brands. Disney fans and fashion fans around the globe are going gah-gah for the newest Disney collaboration with French couture brand Givenchy!

First, for a little bit of brand background. Givenchy is a French luxury clothing and perfume brand launched in 1952 by designer Hubert de Givenchy. Originally praised for its separates collections, this brand quickly gained traction and popularity. The original collection contained flowy skirts and puff-sleeved blouses that were fashioned from raw cotton. The brand expanded in the decades to come to include a men’s line and more diverse haute couture designs.

Haute couture fashion means that a garment is incredibly customized with excellent attention to detail. Haute couture is French for “high sewing”, meaning that a garment is impeccably made, perfectly fitted, and expertly sewn. Givenchy famously outfitted Audrey Hepburn for iconic films like Funny Girl, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Paris When it Sizzles.

Other leading ladies dressed by Givenchy included Princess Grace of Monaco and Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis. In more recent years, this fashion house has outfitted celebrities like Megan Markle, Beyoncé Knowles, Julia Roberts, and Lady Gaga.

The buzz around this brand in summer 2022 is all about their ongoing collaboration with the Walt Disney Company. This news was teased in late spring. Disney x Givenchy features Disney animated characters from 101 Dalmatians, Bambi, and Frozen. A press release from the company shared that this “limited-edition capsule collection of luxury ready-to-wear,” would be released in individual drops throughout the summer.

Givenchy perfectly named this collection “The Wonder Gallery“. This Givenchy Creative Director Matthew Williams was especially excited about this collaboration because of his personal love for, and history with, Disney.

When announcing the upcoming collaboration, Williams shared, “Disney has always held a special place in my heart, as it has for so many across generations, countries, and cultures. As a boy from California and a father in Paris, Disney has always been a source of meaningful moments throughout my life. It’s a true honor to bring out, two iconic brands together for this project.”

On July 1, 2022, Givenchy dropped a stunning collection that will have you seeing spots! That’s right, 101 Dalmatians merchandise hit the Givenchy website and is giving us major add-to-cart vibes. The beautiful hand-drawn animation in this 1961 classic Disney movie is stunning, so we understand why it was selected to be part of the Givenchy Wonder Gallery.

This collection was introduced with the most adorable animation commercial that placed those beloved pups Pongo and Perdita in Paris instead of their home in London. These love birds (er dogs) are shown paw in paw on the love lock bridge before prancing down the famous Parisian shopping street, the Champs-Élysées, toward a Givenchy store. Iconic supermodel Kate Moss even meets the pair of pups in animated form as they admire Givenchy bags in a shop window and scare away that pesky villain Cruella De Vil.

Speaking of Cruella De Vil, this fashion-forward Disney villain even appears in the collection! The Givenchy 101 Dalmatians collection is an adorable assortment of outerwear, accessories, shoes, dresses, and tops for men and women. They even have a lovely pink leather dog collar for your four-legged friend.

The pink leather dog collar rings in at $420 and comes in sizes small, medium, and large. Your dog can show off his or her piece of haute couture at the dog park. No doubt the other pooches will swoon at the sight of the silver Givenchy logo that dangles from this “blossom pink” leather collar.

If you are searching for a simple but adorable piece from this collection that you can mix and match, you could snag a shirt. There are several cute options to choose from. A classic and adorable selection would be the black Disney 101 Dalmatians t-shirt in printed jersey. The front of the garment is printed with Givenchy Paris in red lettering with the white Disney logo and 14 dalmatian puppies playing around the logo. The reverse side of the shirt sports the Givenchy logo in red, draped with even more adorable Dalmatian puppies. This shirt runs from sizes Extra-Small to 3XL and rings in at $595.

If I had the budget to purchase from this dreamy Disney x Givenchy collection, I would absolutely purchase this Pongo purse. Named the G-Essentials 101 Dalmatians camera bag in printed leather. This sleek black leather cross-body camera bag shows serious-faced Pongo adorned with a Givenchy dog tag hanging from his collar. This is one of the more expensive pieces in the collection, coming in at $1270.

Honestly, we are swooning over so many pieces in this collection. From sweatshirts and water bottles to puppy-clad pink leather wallets and pink Cruella De Vil cardigans, the options are many. The pieces in this collection reflect all the charm and detail of the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film 101 Dalmatians. Beloved characters have been successfully translated into fine luxury pieces. One thing is certain, House of Givenchy did a phenomenal job on this collection.

About Katie Chapman

Hey There! I am a Georgia native with a passion for writing, traveling, cooking, decorating, pugs and of course all things Disney. Growing up in South Georgia just a few hours from Walt Disney World made for a magical childhood. Some of my best memories were made on Main Street U.S.A. with my sister watching SpectroMagic nighttime parade or beside my grandparents, parents and extended family at Chef Mickey’s celebrating on a family vacation. Epcot was my favorite park from a young age and I credit it with my interest in and love for international travel. As a kid I loved meeting characters and watching films around World Showcase and could spend hours exploring each of the countries in Epcot. These days, my husband and I get away to explore a new country whenever we can and even incorporate trips to The Disney Store and Disney Parks around the world in our travels. One of our travel goals is to visit every Disney Park in the world. I love writing about Disney restaurants, park tips, Disney outfit inspiration and Disney history. Pocahontas is my favorite Disney Princess (90s kid here!) but Mr. Toad is my spirit animal. When I’m not at Disney I’m reading about park history, watching Disney documentaries and shopping vintage Disney merch for park outfits. I never pass up a reservation to Ohana, an empty seat on Living with the Land or a Violet Sake.
