“Swifties” Can’t Get Enough

Taylor Swift fans (“Swifties”) are around every corner for all the right reasons. Taylor Swift is an American singer-songwriter with a 17-year award-winning musical career who is one of the most successful and influential artists of her generation. Not only is she known for her endless supply of incredible songs that make her concerts sell out in seconds, but she’s exploded in popularity across several platforms.

Most recently, Tayor Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce, a football player who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, has had Taylor’s face trending on sports channels. Plus, let’s not forget about the incredibly popular Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, now in theaters around the world.

Taylor Swift Ride at Disney?

Now, two hard-core fandoms – Disney and Taylor Swift fans – are colliding! Social media has taken a viral video meant for satire and seemingly wants the fake news to become factual.

MouseTrapNews, a satirical news source, has shared the idea of a Tayor Swift Eras ride coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort.

The dreamed-up ride will take Guests on a journey through Swift’s musical eras with ride vehicles that feature Taylor’s different guitars. The ride will reportedly be a similar design to two popular Disney Hollywood Studios attractions, including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Hold tight as the attraction will be trackless, taking Guests through various scenes featuring Taylor’s many successes and a few “bumps in the road.”

The most famous Swift songs from each of the eras will be played, making a slightly different soundtrack for each ride, much like Disney’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Can you imagine cruising along on a Disney ride to songs from Taylor’s notable albums like “Reputation” (2017), “Lover” (2019), “Folklore” (2020), and “Evermore” (2020)?

Guests would expect similar intensity to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance with moments of acceleration as well as The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror-style drop. Furthermore, the attraction is said to be located behind the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, with an anticipated opening date of 2026.

But Wait… Could This Really Happen?

Actually, this Disney (and Swift) fan believes it’s not that far-fetched of an idea for Disney to roll out a Taylor Swift ride. Remember EPCOT’s Captain EO?

Captain EO was a 3D science fiction short film with theater effects shown at Disney’s EPCOT from 1986 until 1998. The attraction featured a film starring the incredibly popular Michael Jackson, who was, like Taylor Swift, a ground-breaking musician for his generation.

So… would Disney be smart to jump on the Taylor Swift bandwagon just like they did with Michael Jackson several years ago?

While the viral video announcing the Taylor Swift Eras ride is false, and Disney has not reported any Swift-themed attraction on the way, we could completely see Disney Imagineers working some magic to roll out the red carpet for both Swifties and Disney fans.

  1. It’s all too weird for Disney to take a non Disney movie or actor to be featured for their own ride. Disney has been getting all to weird these days and so I haven’t gone in a decade
