Absolutely any day in Walt Disney World Resort is going to be magical, no matter what Park you go to, what attractions you ride, or what delicious food you eat. That said, a day filled with Mickey and Minnie is especially wonderful. This is true for anyone but is even more true for those with a Mickey and Minnie fanatic in their travel party.
If you’re among those traveling with a diehard fan of the Mouse, you may be wondering how you can make that person’s day. Our answer? Head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! What to Do
First, let’s discuss what you should do during your Mickey and Minnie theme park day. Fortunately, Hollywood Studios has a lot to offer when it comes to attractions that feature the Mouse and his girlfriend, so you likely won’t find yourself feeling bored at any point during the day. Instead, we’re betting you have a day filled with the kind of smiles only a beloved friend like Mickey and an excellent Disney experience can bring on.
Ride Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Obviously, you have to go on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This is one of the newest attractions in Disney World. It’s located in the Chinese Theatre at the end of Hollywood Boulevard and is one of our favorite Hollywood Studios rides. It is fantastic even for those who aren’t fans of the Fab Five. That said, Mickey fanatics will absolutely adore this feat of Walt Disney Imagineering.
The whole attraction (including the super fun queue) makes you feel as though you’ve been plopped down right in the middle of the wonderful world of Mickey Mouse. All of the Fab Five friends — Pluto, Goofy, and Donald Duck — are featured, and the artwork and attention to detail are just stunning. Of course, we also appreciate the trackless ride cars, which offer a smooth –and sometimes unpredictable — ride.
Note: It’s worth investing in Lightning Lane if the line is super long for this popular attraction.
Meet Minnie at Red Carpet Dreams
Character meet-and-greets are finally back! Yes, they are modified from what they were before, but they are better than nothing, and still worthwhile if you have a character fan on your hands. Recently, the Minnie Mouse meet-and-greet was added back into the attraction lineup at the Hollywood Studios Disney park, and we couldn’t be happier about it.
At this meet-and-greet (located on Commissary Lane), Minnie Mouse is dressed to impress in her movie star best. She looks amazing and is smiling and waiting to meet you. Be sure to bring a camera and a friend to snap a photo!
See “Vacation Fun” – An Original Animated Short with Mickey and Minnie
If you’re a fan of the Mickey shorts that have been released in recent years, you’re going to love “Vacation Fun” in the Mickey Shorts Theater. This super fun mini-movie compiles some of the best Mickey shorts into an adorable little film that kids and adults will both enjoy.
We like to use this attraction as a chance to get off our feet and cool off between other things. While you might have to wait until the next showing, there is never a true line to get in, and it’s just long enough to offer a true break from standing while you’re being entertained by the antics of the Fab Five.
Head to “Disney Junior Play and Dance”
Have a little one in tow? “Disney Junior Play and Dance” is a must-see. This show features a number of Disney Junior characters, as well as plenty of singing, dancing, and fun. It’s a great way to make sure your toddler, preschooler, or early elementary-aged kids get to see their favorite friends, and the appearance of Mickey at the end is sure to have your Mickey-obsessed friend or family member grinning from ear to ear.
It should be noted that this show does sometimes fill up, so be sure to show up a few minutes before showtime in order to ensure you get a spot in the audience.
Watch the Mickey and Friends Motorcade
Occasionally, a cavalcade will run the length of Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood Studios. Our favorite of these cavalcades? The Mickey and Friends Motorcade! This miniature parade is tons of fun.
It features silly, cartoony music that is sure to catch the attention of anyone nearby. Chip and Dale lead the lineup, waving to guests as they go by. Next up is Minnie in her adorable red car, followed by Pluto, who is on foot and happily greeting guests. Last in the lineup is Mickey himself, riding in a bright red car and waving to everyone he sees.
The whole thing is short-lived, but it is exciting to see Disney friends, and it happens often enough that seeing one of the parades doesn’t require much planning.
Shop Mickey’s of Hollywood
Need some awesome Mickey and Minnie merch? You’re in luck because Hollywood Studios has an entire store that’s (almost) all about the Mouse. Here, you’ll find t-shirts, mugs, water bottles, hats, purses, shoes, toys, and a whole lot more, all featuring that classic cartoon character we know and love. Just know that your Mickey fan friend likely won’t leave without buying something.
Where to Eat
What about food? Well, there are also plenty of Mickey Mouse food options available to you. This means your snack and mealtimes can be filled with just as much magic and fun as the rest of your day, something that is sure to make the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Anaheim Produce
A great place for a Mickey-themed snack, Anaheim Produce sells produce (as the name suggests) but also offers Mickey Mouse pretzels with that beloved cheese sauce, as well as Mickey Bars and Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches. Whether you prefer sweet or salty Mickey-shaped foods, you’ll find something to munch on here.

Trolley Car Cafe
You can also find a few Mickey-shaped snacks at Trolley Car Café (Hollywood Studio’s Starbucks location). This is great if you were planning on buying a coffee anyway, as it means you can wait in one line and snag both your caffeine pick-me-up and a yummy Mickey Mouse cookie.

Hollywood and Vine
Finally, you will definitely want to plan to have lunch or dinner at Hollywood and Vine. During these meal times, this restaurant features rotating seasonal-themed character dining hosted by Minnie herself. The characters are dressed in fun seasonal attire, and the whole experience is fantastic.
Note: Be aware that breakfast at this location features Disney Junior characters. It is fun, but Mickey and/or Minnie may or may not appear.
As you can see, there are plenty of ways to fill a Mickey and Minnie-themed day while in Hollywood Studios. Not only that, every single one of these things is well worth experiencing, and we’re certain your Mouse-loving friend will remember the cartoon-filled day you plan for years to come.
