One of Walt Disney World’s most nostalgic attractions at Magic Kingdom Park has undergone an update this month.
A visit to Disney World near Orlando, Florida, is a dream come true for many! With four theme parks, including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, two water parks including Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, and the beloved shopping, dining, and entertainment district, Disney Springs, there is never a dull moment.
Magic Kingdom, home to the iconic Cinderella Castle, has recently undergone several changes as the Disney Park continues to grow and develop for its Guests. Splash Mountain in Frontierland is now closed to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. TRON Lightcycle / Run is finally opening soon after its lengthy build. And The Walt Disney Company has shared some big ideas for future developments for a Magic Kingdom expansion to include lands inspired by Coco (2017), Encanto (2021), and the notorious Disney Villains.

Inclusive New Doll
@ScottGustin took to social media on March 1, 2023, to report, “Walt Disney World updated “it’s a small world” at Magic Kingdom last night to include a new doll in a wheelchair, “building on “it’s a small world’s” longstanding legacy of diverse representation.” Similar updates were made to “it’s a small world” at Disneyland in November 2022.” Check out the image of the new doll below:

As noted above, a similar update was provided at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, last year when Disneyland Park’s “it’s a small world” welcomed a wheelchair animatronic.
More on Magic Kingdom’s “it’s a small world”
As many Disney fans are well aware, Magic Kingdom is home to “The Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed.” While taking a ride on the 10-minute musical boat tour through all seven continents, it’s impossible not to sing along to the classic anthem, “It’s A Small World (After All),” written by Richard and Robert Sherman.

The 1971 opening day ride is filled with over 300 stunning Audio-Animatronic figures (thanks to the talented Disney artist Mary Blair) that sing “it’s a small world” in several languages. The newest doll sitting in a wheelchair is a welcomed addition!
