A visit to Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park isn’t complete without a high-five and hug from Mickey Mouse and his pals. And while nostalgic Disney characters are around every corner in the iconic Park, it seems like one unique Magic Kingdom character has gone missing… leaving fans to wonder.
Dining at Magic Kingdom? While many Park Guests seek out dining reservations at Magic Kingdom’s table-service restaurants such as Cinderella’s Royal Table, The Crystal Palace, or Be Our Guest Restaurant, sometimes a quick-service restaurant is the cheaper, more spontaneous, and the easiest way to go.

In the Tomorrowland portion of Magic Kingdom, we typically find ourselves Mobile Ording and dining at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. This quick-service restaurant offers a simple menu with selections such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, salad, and more.
While the theme park food may not be the best you’ll find in Magic Kingdom, we do enjoy the entertainment offered at Cosmic Ray’s. That’s right… an animatronic alien named Sonny Eclipse takes to the stage to sing and perform for diners of all ages.

From space jokes to piano tunes, Sonny Eclipse has become a recognizable Magic Kingdom character, much like Figment has become to EPCOT. So, when Sonny goes missing… Disney fans notice.
We all assumed Sonny Eclipse had been behind a refurbishment curtain for several weeks at the restaurant. But, when the curtain was lifted, to the surprise of many, Sonny had disappeared. In Sonny’s place is a stage for “Club Tinsel,” which is typically the holiday dance party event open during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
@MickeyBlog_ took to social media on January 30, 2023, with a video reporting, “Sonny Eclipse is still missing from the stage at Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe.”

Unfortunately, the whereabouts of Sonny are unknown, as Disney fans remain eager to see the animatronic alien make his grand return to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
