Listen, working out can be really hard. Sometimes, getting the motivation to work out at all can be even harder! To get into the right state of mind for exercise, some people use pump-up music, some people use podcasts, and some people apparently use Disney movies. The athletic branch of the Walt Disney Company, runDisney, just shared a pretty adorable workout plan for anyone who wants to get some reps in while watching Disney’s 1991 animated classic Beauty and the Beast.
First, runDisney is an event series by Disney that combines running races with the magic of Disney Parks. It includes a range of race distances and themes, from 5Ks and 10Ks to half and full marathons. Participants of all ages and fitness levels can take part in these races, which take place in various Disney Resorts around the world, including Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Resort in California. The races typically feature Disney characters, entertainment, and special surprises along the course, creating a unique and fun experience for runners and Disney fans.
However, not everyone is a runner, and not everyone can get to the Disney theme parks to participate in these active events or really even want to. So runDisney happily shared this cross-training workout to Beauty and the Beast.

Here we go!
- Every time Belle is reading a book: Alternating Lunges (5 each side)
- When a petal falls from The Enchanted Rose: 10 Squats
- Whenever the Beast lets out a ROAR: Alternating Knee Raise (5 each leg)
- If someone uses the Magic Mirror: Single Leg Calf Raise (5 each leg)
- When the Beast transforms into a human: Side Plank (10 seconds each)
You might feel a little silly at first, but it definitely beats eating raw eggs like Gaston. Plus this is a great way to get in your workout while also keeping the kids entertained and close by! That alone is a major win-win!
Imagine the cardio you can get in if you dance to the musical numbers as well!
