For years, the public has had a field day making fun of ‘Disney Adults.’ Now, two of Hollywood’s most loved actors have come out as proud members of the community.
Being a Disney Adult means that you have to get used to the constant nagging and bullying from the outside world. Many people just don’t understand the appeal of Disney movies and theme Parks. Not liking Disney is one thing, but bullying and harassing those who do is unacceptable and hurtful behavior.
Nevertheless, the crusade against the Disney community seems neverending. It is so bad that actor John Stamos, a Disney adult himself, felt insecure about sharing his hobby for fear of being rejected by Hollywood.
How Ryan Gosling Helped John Stamos Accept His Disney Passion
On a recent episode of the Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast with actress and Disney alumni Keke Palmer, Stamos recalled a conversation with Ryan Gosling that changed his whole perspective. About six or seven years ago, Stamos recalled feeling very insecure about his love for Disney. He told Keke that he felt like, “Who’s gonna take me seriously with the Mickey Mouse stuff. I gotta sort of distance myself from it.”
Stamos felt insecure and hid his passion for fear of being ridiculed. Then, he had a conversation with Ryan Gosling that changed everything. Stamos recalls the conversation, saying;
“He’s like, ‘You’re a Disney fan?’ I go, ‘Yeah,’ He goes, ‘I’m obsessed. I’m a Disney adult. I go there by myself. I wear headphones … I go on rides, I have a mixtape.’”
Actor Ryan Gosling Has No Shame for Being a Disney Adult
For Stamos, that conversation hanged his whole perspective. Stamos, who is an Orange County native, grew up around the magic of Disney. He says;
“It’s just so full of love and optimism and happiness… When you go through the turnstile … everything else goes away.”
Stamos’ feeling is one that any Disney Parks and movies fan can relate to. It is wonderful to see the actor find his confidence and proudly wear the title of Disney Adult. After all, what’s not to love?!
