Walt Disney World Resort is home to four amazing theme parks, but the crown jewel is undeniably the Magic Kingdom.

The three remaining theme parks (Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT) are entirely unique, making Walt Disney World one of the best family-friendly vacation destinations in the world.

But Magic Kingdom is a step above the rest…usually.

This Disney Park is home to everything that comes to mind when you think of “Disney World.”

While visiting Magic Kingdom Park, guests can experience exciting parades, dazzling fireworks spectaculars over Cinderella Castle, and, most importantly, the classic attractions.

Magic Kingdom is home to rides like Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, “it’s a small world,” Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Jungle Cruise, and, until earlier this year, Splash Mountain. In short, the Disney Park hosts all of the quintessential Disney experiences.

However, one group of unlucky guests recently found themselves stuck on one of these classic attractions, seemingly forced to experience ‘A Pirate’s Life’ for all of eternity as Magic Kingdom’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction went down:

While these guests were experiencing the classic Disney experience, the slow-moving boats came to a stop, backing up and leaving them totally stranded. The craziest part is that the Magic Kingdom ride broke down twice, for approximately fifteen minutes each.

In total, guests were stuck on the classic Pirates of the Caribbean ride for at least 30 minutes. While some of the older attractions, like the Haunted Mansion, may break down for a few minutes here and there, an attraction breaking down for 30 minutes is unusual.

We suspect that the trapped guests were minutes away from being escorted from the classic Magic Kingdom ride when the attraction resumed again.

However, the attraction only resumed enough to get the current riders off, and Pirates of the Caribbean was listed as “Temporarily Unavailable” on the official Walt Disney World Resort app for the rest of the night.

In fact, at the time of this article’s publication, Pirates of the Caribbean is still listed as “Temporarily Unavailable.”

Currently, we don’t know what’s wrong with this classic Disney experience. Earlier this year, we reported on rumors claiming that the classic Magic Kingdom ride is infested with a flock of bats!

Could that be the reason behind this extended closure? Or could it simply be technical difficulties? Unfortunately, only the Walt Disney Company knows what’s wrong with this Magic Kingdom attraction.
