Cast Members who work for Walt Disney World Resort can have it challenging. Many are overworked and underpaid and have to deal with various complex problems, including hot weather, uncomfortable costumes, and having to break up fights between Guests.

The Video

However, sometimes Guests attempt to fight with a Cast Member. In a video posted on Twitter, a Park Guest at what appears to be the Magic Kingdom Park pulls out his phone in an attempt to catch the Cast Member being rude.

The video – which begins in the middle of the conversation and ends before it’s over, shows the Cast Member calmly trying to explain Lightning Lanes. It seems that the Guest videotaping had a problem by arriving too early (or late) to their Lightning Lane time, and she was not letting them through the queue. As a result, the Guest pulls out his phone and starts recording the Cast Member.

The Cast Member then politely asks the Guest to stop recording her, to which the Guest replies he’s recording her because she’s being rude.

Comments Defend the Cast Member

Most of the comments following the post support the Disney Cast Member, either calling out her attempt to explain the park policy, remaining calm, or being professional. It’s understandable if the Disney Park Guest is frustrated over problems with their Lightning Lanes (or the Walt Disney World policy). However, these issues are best taken up with Guest Services instead of videotaping the Cast Member and trying to embarrass them on social media – when they are just doing their job.

The original Guest who posted the video commented on his own post, claiming that the Cast Member “stopped talking disrespectfully” as soon as she noticed he started recording because she “won’t accept her actions on camera.”
