In a surprising turn of events, Walt Disney World Resort has made the decision to temporarily close a cherished part of its magical realm to guests. While “The Most Magical Place on Earth” is renowned for bringing joy and enchantment to millions, this strategic move demonstrates Disney’s unwavering commitment to providing a safe and immersive experience for guests.
Walt Disney World is home to four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Each Disney park includes attractions, shows, restaurants, and different lands for guests to explore.
Walt Disney World Resort is a popular tourist location, seeing thousands of guests daily. With this amount of traffic heading to different Disney parks, wear and tear happens at Disney. Disney World is no stranger to the constant upkeep required to maintain its world-class standards. In order to ensure the safety and quality of its attractions, Disney Word has occasionally found it necessary to close sections of the park for maintenance and refurbishment.
Disney World understands that closing a portion of the park can be disappointing for guests who had planned their vacations, especially for those who may have been eagerly anticipating specific attractions. To mitigate this, Disney typically schedules these closures during periods of lower attendance to minimize disruption to guests’ experiences.
Disney World is known for its transparent communication with its guests. Closure schedules are typically announced well in advance, allowing visitors to adjust their plans accordingly and still enjoy the vast majority of the park’s offerings.
When emergencies happen, Disney World works fast to get Cast Members in place to help direct guests to a safe location. Some Disney World emergencies are fires, pipes bursting, or a medical emergency.
Eric Chu tweeted on X (formally known as Twitter) that something was happening in Magic Kingdom in Frontierland. While we are not sure why Frontierland is closed off, guests will not be able to pass as Cast Members are standing watching and directing guests.

Frontierland is one of the themed lands within Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park. This land captures the spirit and adventure of the American frontier during the 19th century. Some of the attractions, entertainment options, and dining experiences guests can find in Frontierland are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Country Bear Jamboree, and guests looking for something to eat can head to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.
