Whether you’re closer to the East Coast or the West Coast, there’s a Disney Park full of beloved rides on either side of the country.
That’s because Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are home to different versions of the most classic attractions, setting the stage for international Disney Parks to follow suit!

For example, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort have their own version of Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the Haunted Mansion, “it’s a small world,” Jungle Cruise, and, until recently, Splash Mountain.
These experiences are true marvels of Walt Disney Imagineering, and because they’re so successful, many of them have been replicated in Disney Parks all over the world.
But one Disneyland Resort attraction, despite how beloved, didn’t quite make the cut for Walt Disney World Resort. We’re talking, of course, about Disneyland’s Storybook Land Canal Boats.
More About This Classic Disney Ride
Disneyland Park’s Storybook Land Canal Boats is a quaint attraction where guests board a slow-moving boat and take an open-air tour of some of the most iconic settings from classic Disney movies.
The miniature sets are all hand-made and include “whimsical landscaping, charming music and special lighting effects,” according to Disneyland’s official website.
While this picturesque attraction didn’t make the cut for Walt Disney World, it’s been replicated in another Disney Park across the pond: Disneyland Paris.

Disneyland Paris’s version of the attraction is incredibly similar; Guests board a slow-moving boat, go on an open-air tour, and get a bird’s eye view of some of Disney’s classic fairytales. But one of the main differences is that Disneyland Paris’s version includes scenes from “classic works of literature” and Disney fairytales alike, according to the Disney Park’s official website.
Even across the pond, guests enjoy this quaint theme park attraction for its tranquility, its whimsy, and Walt Disney Imagineering’s craftsmanship.
Despite the positive guest reception, the Walt Disney Company is making some changes…

Currently, Disneyland Paris’s version of the classic attraction is scheduled for refurbishment in the coming year. During this refurbishment, the attraction will add scenes from Disney’s Frozen (2013) and Winnie the Pooh (1977).
Reportedly, these new scenes will replace the attraction’s scenes from Peter and the Wolf and Hansel and Gretel, respectively.
We can’t exactly say these changes are all that surprising, especially given the Walt Disney Company’s recent penchant for changing classic attractions. Hopefully, guests will enjoy these upcoming improvements!
