Fan-favorite Disneyland attractions were offline for Guests after a strange occurrence this weekend.
Disneyland Resort in California has captivated the hearts and imaginations of millions of Guests worldwide. Disneyland is located in Anaheim, and this iconic destination is more than just an amusement park it is a world of enchantment where fantasy and reality intertwine to create unforgettable experiences.
Disneyland Resort has two theme parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Each theme park offers a unique and immersive experience, taking visitors through beloved stories and characters. At Disney California Adventure Park, Guests can explore lands such as Pixar Pier, Cars Land, or Avengers Campus. Disneyland Guests can go on a thrilling mission with the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission BREAKOUT, ride the Incredicoaster, take in the sights of Radiator Springs on Radiator Springs Racers, and much more.
Disneyland Park, the original theme park next door that was dreamed up by Walt Disney himself, is divided into different iconic lands: Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Frontierland, each with its own theme and attractions. Disneyland Guests can enjoy attractions such as “it’s a small world,” Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Disneyland Park sees thousands of Guests daily with this amount of traffic, attractions close for refurbishments or break down from time to time.
In a recent social media post, however, Guests reported a strange occurrence: It seemed that nearly half of the rides at Disneyland were down and offline, all at the same time. Guests in this social media thread reported that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad broke down and this iconic Disneyland attraction joined Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Indiana Jones Adventure as attractions down all at the same time. As a matter of fact, these outages weren’t exclusive to Disneyland Park, either.
One Guest said they looked at the app, and it showed eight total attractions down at the same time.
“It’s not a good look,” they said. “Get your sh*t together, Disney! We’d rather have a long refurb and minimal down time after than a quick refurb and a ride that’s still constantly broken!”
Of course, Disneyland Cast Members do their best time make sure that rides are up and running. They worked hard and all these attractions eventually did reopen. However, all of them being down at one time is certainly a strange occurrence and not something that happens very often.
If you experience a breakdown while at Disneyland or Walt Disney World Resort, please make sure to remain seated and follow the instructions of Disney Cast Members. They will guide you to safety if the ride needs to be evacuated.
