Disney World Must-Dos for Pixar Fans

Are you a Pixar fanatic heading to Walt Disney World? Well you’re in luck! Disney World is chock-full of amazing Pixar-themed rides, foods, and even hotel rooms. In this article we discuss all of the things you absolutely must see and do as a Pixar fanatic on a Disney vacation.

Let’s dive in!

Art of Animation

Stay in a Cars or Nemo Room at Art of Animation

First, you’re going to need a place to stay. For this, we highly recommend getting a suite at Art of Animation Resort. These suites come in three different themes: Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo. Each one is very heavily themed, fully immersing you in the movie represented.

Obviously, if you’re a Pixar fan, you will want to choose Nemo or Cars, and we think you’ll be 100% happy with either.

Another thing to know about this Disney resort is that the main pool is Finding Nemo themed and there is another pool and courtyard dedicated entirely to friends from Radiator Springs.

Attend Racing Academy with Lightning McQueen

The first thing Pixar lovers should do after checking into their hotel room at Art of Animation is head to the Walt Disney Parks. Hollywood Studios is our top pick for this crowd because there are tons of awesome Pixar attractions here.

One great one? The super fun Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. Join McQueen for a training adventure with some surprises along the way!

Wave to the Gang During the Pixar Cavalcade

While in Hollywood Studios, be sure to say hi to several Pixar characters by watching the Disney World Pixar Cavalcade. This tiny parade runs regularly throughout the day, meaning it isn’t too hard to catch. Wait around if you have to, though, as it’s well worth getting to wave to your Pixar friends.

Toy Story Land

Pay Toy Story Land a Visit

Looking for more great ways to see Pixar friends in Hollywood Studios Disney park? Make sure to check out Toy Story Land. This is an entire land in which visitors are the size of toys in Andy’s backyard. You’ll get to ride the Slinky Dog roller coaster built by Andy, ride spaceships with toy aliens, and play midway games with all your favorite Toy Story characters.

Eat Lunch at Woody’s Lunch Box

While you’re in Toy Story Land, be sure to stop by Woody’s Lunchbox for lunch. The foods here are delicious takes on childhood favorites, such as soup and grilled cheese and toaster tarts. Everything is Toy Story themed too, making the whole dining experience extra fun.

Hop on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Hollywood Studios is obviously a great theme park to be in if you love Pixar. But what if you find yourself in another park? Well, fortunately, there are options for Pixar fanatics in all four of the Disney World theme parks.

In Magic Kingdom, for instance, there is the super fun Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin laser shooting game. We definitely recommend checking this out while in MK’s Tomorrowland area.

Get Laughing at Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

Need more Magic Kingdom Pixar character options? Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is also in Tomorrowland. This is a super fun show that provides plenty of comedy as your favorite monsters attempt to gather laughter in order to power their town. Consider helping the monsters out by laughing as hard as you can throughout the performance!

Explore the Seas with Nemo and Friends

In Epcot, one of the best options for Pixar loving Disney fans is The Seas with Nemo & Friends. This is an entire building full of Finding Nemo and Finding Dory-themed fun, including a dark ride, a show where guests get to chat with Crush the Turtle, aquariums, and more.

See the Pixar Short Film Festival

Also in the Epcot Disney theme park, the Pixar Short Film Festival offers visitors a lovely break from the sun. Grab a pair of 3D glasses and enjoy several of Pixar’s best short films! Be sure to catch the pre-show in order to learn a bit about Pixar Animation Studios’ history and the making of Pixar Films.

Ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Of course, the most popular Pixar-themed attraction in Epcot (and possibly the whole property) right now is the brand new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This fantastic new dark ride uses some of the latest and greatest technology to put you right in the middle of the world of Ratatouille, and we can’t get enough of it!

Enjoy “It’s Tough to be a Bug”

Moving on to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, one of the park’s lesser known attractions is actually a great pick for Pixar fans. “It’s Tough to be a Bug” is an exciting 4D show that shrinks you down to the size of a bug. After shrinking, the cast of It’s a Bug’s Life teaches you about what it’s like to be one of them.

Join the Wilderness Explorers

Lastly, we must mention the awesome Wilderness Explorers program offered at Animal Kingdom. Grab a handbook, learn the Wilderness Explorers pledge, and seek out Wilderness explorers stations throughout the park, where you will learn new things and earn sticker badges to add to your book. When you’ve earned them all, you’ll move up the ranks and become a Senior Wilderness Explorer!

As you can see, Disney World is an excellent place for Pixar-crazy people to spend their vacation. Not only are there plenty of Pixar-themed things to see and do, there are also new things being added and changed up all the time, so there will always be something different to experience.

Start planning your trip today so you can start having fun as soon as possible!
