What To Know About Walt Disney World Cavalcades
Walt Disney World has worked hard to bring the magic and excitement of favorite characters and entertainment throughout the parks during these adjusted times. Even though guests can’t see the Festival of Fantasy parade at the Magic Kingdom, there are still numerous ways throughout the four parks to enjoy favorite characters. Disney’s new cavalcades are unique and magical ways for guests young and old to still snap a picture, blow a kiss and wave at their favorite Disney characters. Here is what you need to know about these new cavalcades and entertainment right now at Walt Disney World.
1. What are They, When are They?
Cavalcades are mini parades that feature a few of Disney’s beloved characters. Most of them include anywhere from one to four floats with a few like characters together. What makes these unique is that they aren’t a timed experience. Unlike the 3:00 parade in the Magic Kingdom where guests knew they had to find a spot for, cavalcades pop up unexpectedly throughout the day at all four theme parks. By doing this Disney is helping keep guests safe from large crowds gathering but also adding unexpected magic to the day.
2. Character Fun in Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom has numerous cavalcades that guests can enjoy throughout the day. The first one is Tinker Bell. Guests can see Tink on her treasure chest throughout the day coming from Fantasyland. Princess fans will want to catch the Royal Princess Processional that includes all of our favorite princesses. Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, Elena, Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana and even Merida on her horse can all be seen in their royal glory in this special cavalcade. Goofy brings out his friends in the Goofy Cavalcade where Max, Clarabelle, Panchito, and Jose Carioca all join Goofy in bringing laughs and joys to those in the park. Finally, the Fantasyland Friends Cavalcade brings together Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Alice, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, Tigger and Gaston on his majestic horse. Each of these cavalcades can be seen on the normal parade route through Frontierland, Liberty Square and then down Main Street, USA. Check the My Disney Experience app as sometimes in the entertainment section you can find an overall estimated time for these special surprises.
Along with the many cavalcades in Magic Kingdom, guests can also experience the characters in fun, unique ways throughout the parks. Winnie the Pooh and friends can be seen on the Main Street Trolley or even sometimes by the Crystal Palace. When heading into the Magic Kingdom, guests will want to look up at the train station as many characters greet guests throughout the day from up above. So many different ones can be seen at this spot so make sure to keep your eyes opened. Over in Tomorrowland, Stitch and Buzz Lightyear can be found on the stage near Space Mountain. If guests are a fan of the loveable Country Bears, they are often over in Frontierland. All over Magic Kingdom guests can find numerous opportunities to see their favorite Disney characters. Take advantage of this special time where characters are bringing the magic to the parks all the time.

3. Magical Motorcades in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is typically known for small, pop-up entertainment. These aren’t happening right now; however, guests do get a new, exciting option in character motorcades. There are three main motorcades that guests can find throughout the day at Hollywood Studios. Disney Junior Motorcade brings Disney Jr favorites Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, and Fancy Nancy to guests. If guests are wanting to see the main mouse, they can do so during Mickey and Friends Motorcades where Mickey, Minnie, Pluto as well as Chip and Dale wave and interact with guests. Finally, a special Pixar Pals Motorcade brings numerous Pixar favorites of the Green Army Men, Jessie, Woody, Buzz from Toy Story as well as Sulley from Monster’s Inc. Mr. and Mrs. Incredible as well as Eda Mode represent the Incredible movie. This is a fun, character packed motorcade.
If guests are looking for their favorite Star Wars characters, they can find those in Batuu. Rey, Chewbacca, Storm Troopers as well as Kylo Ren and Vi Moradi can be seen on stages or raised platforms throughout Batuu. Although guests can’t get as closed as before to these beloved characters, they still bring the land to life through their interactions with guests.
The motorcades are a great way to see numerous characters in one short period of time while visiting Hollywood Studios. The best part of these motorcades is just that, the amazing cars they have decorated to match the characters. Make sure to check them out!
4. Promenades and More in Epcot
Guests often liked to meet princesses throughout the World Showcase. It is fun to meet Mulan in China and Belle in France or greet Mary Poppins in the UK Pavilion. Now guests can still see these favorites in Epcot, but just in a different way. In Epcot, guests can see characters in promenades throughout the World Showcase. The first one is the Frozen Promenade where guests can see their favorite sisters Elsa and Anna. The Princess Promenade allows guests to see Belle, Aurora, Jasmine and Snow White as they travel through the countries together. Finally, Mickey and Friends World Tour takes Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto through the World Showcase.
There are two other areas where guests can find characters in Epcot right now. The United Kingdom Pavilion and the Imagination Lawn have special characters. Mary Poppins and Alice take turns visiting with guests from the UK Pavilion whereas Winnie the Pooh and Joy play in the law outside the Imagination area. This is one of the best character experiences in Disney right now and something you won’t want to miss while in Epcot. Seeing Winnie the Pooh catch butterflies, look for honey or stretch for some exercise is a magical experience one is sure to remember forever.
5. Cruising with Characters in Animal Kingdom
Characters in Animal Kingdom have always been a little harder to find as they are often in unique areas around the Tree of Life or in Dinoland. Now however guests can find a relaxing spot as different cruises take characters down the Discovery River.
Goofy and Pals Set Sail allows Goofy and sometimes friends from Donald’s Dino Dash (like Chip and Dale) to cruise along and entertain guests. Mickey and Friends Flotilla includes Mickey, Minnie and Pluto where Donald’s Dino Boat Bash has Donald, Daisy and Launchpad McQuack having a great time. The famous Discover Island Drummers also go by as does the Discover River Character Cruise includes Pocahontas and sometimes Meeko, Rifiki and Timon as well. The great part about these cruises is guests can find relaxing spots to sit and watch from numerous areas around the park. Grab a drink at Nomad Lounge or hang out at the relaxation station near the Caravan Stage Theatre. The river allows guests to have a variety of choices when seeing the cruises full of characters.
Even though guests can’t meet characters in a typical way right now, Disney has done a great job of providing fun, magical ways for guests to still see their favorite characters. It doesn’t matter what park guests visit; they will have the opportunity to see some characters in a brand-new way.
