Walt Disney World Resort, often referred to as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” welcomes guests to explore enchanting theme parks, world-class entertainment, and immersive experiences.
Walt Disney World sees a rise in guests several times a year. Major holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, draw many guests to the parks. Additionally, spring break and summer break are popular times for guests due to children being out of school and the warm weather.
Due to larger crowds heading to Disney World parks– which include Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom– the company has introduced a tool to help guests get more out of their vacation.
Genie+ is Disney World’s innovative digital service designed to enhance the guest experience by providing convenient access to select attractions and minimizing wait times. Launched as part of Disney’s broader efforts to streamline park operations and improve guest satisfaction, Genie+ offers a range of features to optimize the park visit experience.
Disney Genie+ allows guests to browse available attractions, select their preferred ride times, and easily make Lightning Lane reservations. This enables guests to bypass traditional standby lines and enjoy expedited access to popular attractions, maximizing their time in the parks and reducing wait times.
However, if you are considering purchasing Disney Genie+, make sure you buy early in the day because it sells out on busy days. Genie+ sold out of their multi-park option, which means guests hoping to park hop cannot purchase the multi-park option for the day.
Disney Genie+ has different prices for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Additionally, guests can select the multi-park price, but when it is sold out, guests cannot purchase this helpful tool.
Genie+ is seeing the highest prices in 2024; guests recently saw prices like this in the Holiday season. If you are heading to Disney World and planning to purchase Genie+, guests are seeing prices as high as $35.00, meaning that a family of four is paying more than $140.00 to skip the standby line at Magic Kingdom.
Some Disney World guests have raised concerns about the additional cost of the service, particularly for larger families or families on a budget. Others have expressed frustration over the impact of Lightning Lane access on standby wait times and overall park congestion.
