Today ended up being a dissapointing one for Guests hoping to use the Disney Genie+ Service at Walt Disney World Resort. This week, spring break is taking place for schools all over the country. As the crowds begin the flock to Walt Disney World to celebrate vacation time in the warm Florida air, the Park is met with a supply problem once again. Between this week and Presidents Day earlier in the year, it is clear that demand is far outweighing supply at Walt Disney World Resort.

Can Genie+ Meet Demands?

When Guests come to Walt Disney World to vacation, they want to make sure that they make the most of their Disney experience. During busy weeks like Spring Break, Park prices surge for Guests. The steep prices make it even more essential for families to experience as much as possible within the theme parks.

Many families turn to the Genie Plus service to help maximize their weekends. Genie Plus gives Guests the ability to reserve individual Lightning lane passes for their favorite rides and attractions. This week, the price for Genie+ reached its record price of $30, a price only previously met during Presidents day earlier this year. For context, the service usually costs between $15 and $20.

Today, at around 3 pm, the Genie+ service sold out in the Parks. Theme Park reported Scott Gustin reported the occurrence.

Fans within the Park who were hoping to purchase an individual lightning lane attraction are disappointed with this news. Genie+ has sold out before during Presidents Day weekend, another busy time for the Park. The sell-outs tell us that the demand for Genie Lightning Lane outweighs the supply the theme Park has to offer. Some fans feel like the sell-outs prove that Disney Park should return to the prior Disney FastPass system, which was not a system that could sell out as the lightning lane does.

Despite fans questioning its viability, the Disney Genie service is likely going to stick around for a while. During the busy season, it can be expected that the service may sell again. Guests will be able to purchase the service again starting tomorrow morning.
