We have some exciting news as we cruise through Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary week! With celebrations kicking off on October 1, we’re thrilled to join in the 18-month long Disney Parks celebration. October 1 also marks the return of several pre-COVID favorites. We previously shared the news that Yehaa Bob Jackson is returning to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, “Let the Magic Begin” is returning to Magic Kingdom, and even Casey’s Corner Pianist will once again be tickling the ivories! With so much excitement, we’re thrilled to hear that EPCOT’s Matsuriza is returning to the World Showcase!

Disney describes the EPCOT’s Matsuriza Drummer entertainment as, “Feel the rhythm as this group of traditional Japanese drummers performs intricate musical arrangements on giant drums in a dazzling display of pure physical stamina. Japanese Taiko drums have been enthralling audiences for years in religious ceremonies, festivals, and even on battlefields as soldiers prayed for victory. Come witness the thrill of Taiko for yourself!”
These Park drummers have been a fan-favorite in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion since they began in 1995. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we weren’t sure we’d see their return. BUT… yes! They are returning just in time for the 50th Anniversary celebration.
Matsuriza took to Instagram (@matsuriza_taiko) to share the exciting news! “WE ARE BACK AT EPCOT STARTING THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1ST!!!! We are so excited and grateful to come back for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration! All your continuous love and support during our time away has been sincerely appreciated and has kept our spirits high. Looking forward to seeing all your beautiful faces again. PLEASE COME SAY HI!!! We cannot wait to see you and perform for you at our Pagoda home once again. This will truly be the world’s most magical celebration! We will be performing: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. (Off Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Showtimes: 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, 5:30”
