Whoopi Goldberg Calls Out Disney Star After Controversial Endorsement

Actress Whoopi Goldberg has never been one to hide her feelings and opinions. For almost twenty years, she has been able to voice those opinions as a cohost on ABC’s hit show The View. Now, in the past, she has had to apologize for some of those opinions, and she was even suspended for terrible statements she made about the Holocaust.

Whether she is debating with her cohorts or agreeing with them, the Sister Act (1992) star usually holds firm in her beliefs. She is also quick to call out people when they say things that she finds absolutely ridiculous.

And she did not hold back when she decided to address comments made by Disney’s Tangled (2010) star Zachary Levi.

Recently, Levi — who also portrays the DC superhero Shazam — appeared at a rally being held by former President Donald Trump in Michigan. At the rally, Mr. Levi threw his support behind the former president and said that his endorsement could potentially be “career suicide”.

“We’re here to make sure that we are going to take back this country, we are going to make it great again, we are going to make it healthy again. And so, I stand with Bobby, and I stand with Tulsi [Gabbard], and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump. Because I do believe, of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, Donald Trump, President Trump is the man that can get us there. And he’s gonna get us there because he’s gonna have the backing and the support and the wisdom and the knowledge and the fight that exists in Robert Kennedy Jr. and former Representative Tulsi Gabbard.”

“But I will say, though, within my industry, as you can probably imagine, Hollywood is a very, very liberal town, and this very well could constitute career suicide.”

Ms. Goldberg did not take kindly to what Mr. Levi said about how Hollywood would react to his comments. She said that Hollywood has always been a “mixed bag” and rarely do people “bite it because they’re Republican.”

“So, okay. That’s not necessarily true. From the beginning of Hollywood, it’s always been a very right-leaning town, but I know you don’t know much about the Hollywood history, so let me school you.”

“We are, like America is, we’re mixed. We’re a mixed bunch. And sometimes, it may seem like there’s more Democrats and sometimes it seems like there’s more Republicans.”

“The truth of the matter is, very few people seem to bite it because they’re Republican. Jon Voight, who is working. Dennis Quaid, who is working. People work — stop that. It’s more BS, and it’s unnecessary.”

Prior to voicing his support for the former president, Levi had been supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who suspended his campaign in late August.

Over the years, Levi has returned to Disney several times to reprise his role as Flynn Rider in TangledHe reprised his role in Tangled Ever After (2012), Tangled: Before Ever After (2017), the show Tangled: Short Cuts, and the series, Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure.

At this time, Disney has not announced plans for a Tangled sequel or a live-action remake.

Do you think Zachary Levi’s statements were “career suicide”? Or is he being overly dramatic? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Talk to Tim Allen and how they Fred to derail his career because of his conservative associations.

      1. That is so True and Whoopi and all her friends on the View are the biggest Bullies in television.

  2. Who cares what Whoopi says? She has lost her way long ago. Way to go Zach! Speak your truth. I support you. You gained more respect in my eyes.

      1. Getting tired of this website posting anything about politics. You have been posting a lot of articles that definitely have political tones attached. We come here for Disney and parks news. If you can’t post that then don’t post anything. At this point everyone is tired of politics and we need a break. I’ll unfollow if that’s all you can do.

  3. The real question is why isn’t it career suiccide for Whoopie for her constant hate for others that chose differently. Why is Whoopie still allowed to be on the air. Whoopie is working so the people who don’t agree with her shouldn’t? Let’s be real here. Whoopie has no place on tv.

  4. I am glad Zach spoke his truth, and more than a little confused as to why Whoopi needed to inject herself and her opinion into the situation at all. While it may not be actual professional suicide, i do believe that there is immense pressure by the mainstream media and poweres that be in Hollywood and elsewhere to push a very left wing liberal agenda.

I actually find it funny that actors on talk shows think their opinions matter to anyone. Therefore, I turn off the talkshow. Stick to what you know people don’t spew your opinions unsolicited because you have a talkshow mic in your face.

  5. Why are talking about political parties to begin with? Is this not a Disney site and not a political campaign site? Regardless of who you support, I really don’t care to read about your views on parties here!!

  6. It’s non of Whoopie’s business! She needs to put a plug in it! We all get 1 vote. She doesn’t get to infringe in another’s freedom of speech! She needs to be gone already!
You go Zach! We support you!

  7. Good for him! Everyone’s beliefs should not be scrutinized. We have the right to our own. If anyone thinks that this world is in a better place than four years ago, Just vote!
