Over the past few years The Walt Disney Company has had a few insidious changes that worried even the most loyal Mickey Mouse fans. Within the CEO transition from Bob Iger to Bob Chapek and back again to Iger, the world is learning new details of what’s really going on inside the House of Mouse.

Is it just me, or is Bob Iger acting like a real Prince Hans from Frozen (2013)? Fans rejoiced when he was reinstated as CEO in place of the unpopular Chapek, but recent events suggest some second guessing is in order.

First, let’s address a few out of touch statements Iger callously made in reference to the ongoing entertainment labor strikes. With a personal net worth of about $350 million and a roughly $27 million a year salary, Iger described the writer’s and actor’s strike for fair contracts as “disturbing” and “unrealistic.” It’s reported that he even felt “personally offended” the unions did not agree to the most recent offer made to settle the strikes.

He’s giving real “Oh Anna, if only there was someone out there who loved you” vibes, no?

In the meantime, Iger took to X (formerly Twitter) to promote the Disney Aspire program, which is an education initiative by The Walt Disney Company designed to encourage and support their employees in pursuing higher education. Responses to his post absolutely tore apart his tone deafness and confronted his refusal to pay his workers fairly.

Seemingly taking care of citizens when you only really mean to rule over them. VERY Hans.

A new exposè mentions that Iger is a real puppet master, who pulled strings in the background while allowing Bob Chapek to take blame and hate. Apparently, when Chapek took over, Iger refused to give up his CEO office which was equipped with a full shower and photoshopped Clint Eastwood movie poster with Iger’s face.

Audiences are just realizing how controlling Bob Iger is despite his originally  magical and altruistic image. He apparently actively undermined Chapek during COVID-19 issues publicly and internally. Iger reportedly even addressed employees as CEO again, before Chapek even was able to process the news of his firing.

Bad mouthing the current leader while acting like a hero to the people? Does Bob Iger have 12 older brothers and hail from a little place called….THE SOUTHERN ISLES??

Many think that Iger wants to stay on as CEO as long as humanly possible just so that he can profit from eventually selling the entertainment juggernaut to Apple!

Really though, this is some hardcore villain stuff – and if anyone should know, it’s Disney! So what do shareholders and fans do now that they know that this Bob Iger villain is already inside the house?

Maybe we should brush up on some classic Disney movies for the next course of action…

About Lana Porter

Lana has never lost a Disney Trivia night. Maybe it’s the hundreds of times she’s been to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, her love for Disney’s ’90’s era hand-animated musicals, or the fact that she’s often likened to cartoon characters, but Disney and its magic have a special place in her heart. Her favorite Disney experiences include the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, eating Mickey Bars on the PeopleMover, and crying during the Magic Kingdom fireworks show. One day she hopes to be chosen as the rebel spy on Star Tours. When Lana isn’t Park Hopping, she’s at home reading books of all topics, watching her favs on Disney+, or snuggling her two cats, which she swears are not named after Disney characters. She loves surprising people with her knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but admits she is still catching up with Star Wars. She is happy to combine her excitement for writing with her love for Disney-style storytelling and share what she can with the world!
