Chief Executive Officer of the juggernaut entertainment and media entity that is the Walt Disney Company, Robert Iger, always has eyes on him. While most heralded his return as Disney CEO, replacing the unpopular Bob Chapek, Iger has quickly turned fans into critics with his frequent out-of-touch comments.
Audiences were floored when he described the current writer’s and actor’s strikes as “disturbing” and “unrealistic” in July. Just recently DiscussingFilm shared that Iger is “reportedly personally offended the WGA didn’t agree to AMPTP’s latest offer that doesn’t provide them proper fair pay & conditions.” Ah, Bob. You’ve gone and done it again.
Lovers of Disney Entertainment content, from the classics to Marvel Studios to Star Wars, were saddened and stood by the creatives on strike. They even tried to fight Bob Iger back directly…on X (formerly Twitter) that is. On the morning of August 25th, Iger tweeted this gem about the Disney Aspire program:
So proud of the Disney Aspire program, which offers 100% paid education for eligible hourly employees. In five years, nearly 4000 current employees have graduated – and 3100 Disney Aspire students have been promoted within the company. Met several inspiring graduates at Disneyland today, who shared their amazing, life-changing stories.

While the Disney CEO seemed to miss the irony, other users certainly did not.
First of all, the Disney Aspire program is a 2018 education initiative by The Walt Disney Company designed to encourage and support their employees in pursuing higher education or obtaining certain vocational training. The program covers tuition costs, fees, and some materials for each enrolled Disney employee, so they can gain skills and knowledge needed for personal and professional growth.
Here are some of the hilarious, yet hauntingly true pushback posts.
