Marvel Studios Hand Picked These 8 Films As MUST Watches

Even if you’re a huge Marvel Comics fan, the depth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can be seriously overwhelming. Marvel Studios has made over 32 feature films and just under two dozen streaming series, and the content just keeps on coming! The very next installment involving Marvel characters is a Disney Plus series called Secret Invasion which is led by Samuel L Jackson‘s recurring Nick Fury.

The six episodes, each an hour long, will begin streaming on Disney Plus tomorrow, June 21! If you’re excited about this next chapter but want to make sure you’re up to date with the MCU before jumping in – don’t worry, Marvel Entertainment has you covered.

President Kevin Feige and the rest of Marvel Studios must have sensed that the vast archive of their complicated content may be a burden for some fans to keep up with. So, they released a list of eight movies that’ll set any Marvel fan up perfectly to enjoy (and probably binge) Secret Invasion.

The 8 Marvel Certified Movies to Prep for Secret Invasion

1 – Iron Man (2008)

Where it all began! Iron Man is the inaugural film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, introduces Nick Fury, and floats the concept of the Avengers.

2 – Iron Man 2 (2010)

Learn more about Nick Fury’s backstory as SHEILD’s director and with Tony Stark. Don Cheadle, who reprises his role as James “Rhodey” Rhodes in Secret Invasion, makes his first appearance.

3 – Avengers (2012)

Nick Fury unites the Avengers for the first time and deals with the Tesseract! Avengers features Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, who will also reprise her role in Secret Invasion.

4 – Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

See more of Nick Fury’s backstory with Agent Hill and the introduction of his wife, who we will meet in the Disney Plus series!

5 – Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

This movie involves Fury and Maria Hill kicking some butt!

Feel free to skip to the end of this one to see Nick Fury disintegrate at Thanos’ snap and set up future plot lines.

7 – Captain Marvel (2019)

MUST WATCH: Learn about young Nick Fury, how he lost his eye, Captain Marvel, and the threatening Skrulls. You’ll want to remember Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos and daughter, G’iah (Emilia Clarke) for Secret Invasion.
