Hey television lover! It’s not all bad news when it comes to new content prospects in the upcoming months! Yes, the writers and actors strikes have put a MAJOR dent in what’s coming out in the near future, but the good news is that some things made the cut. If a project was written, filmed, and finished before the talent strikes took effect, it slipped through the unrest and is coming to you! Disney+ just announced a lineup for August with some new content. PLUS, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short are about to take over your Hulu with Only Murders in the Building Season Three! And their Guest Stars are even BIGGER names!

Only Murders in the Building is a comedic mystery television series created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. The show premiered on Hulu in 2021 and stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as three strangers who live in the same New York City apartment building and are obsessed with true crime. When a murder occurs in their building, they start their own investigation podcast, exploring the crime while also forming unlikely friendships. The series combines comedy, mystery, and a love for true crime podcasts, delivering a unique and engaging storyline.

The first two seasons garnered a strong fanbase, and now the unlikely trio returns for season three! If you haven’t watched seasons one and two yet, STOP READING now, because spoiler alert!

…Meryl Streep joins the cast this season! Season three of Only Murders in the Building will have our leading trio trying to solve Paul Rudd’s murder. Esquire reports that a trailer from the 2023 Oscars pre-show suggests Meryl Streep will play a “mysterious new character,” seemingly an actress in the same play as Rudd’s character.

The first two episodes of Only Murders in the Building season three start streaming on Hulu on August 8! New episodes stream on Hulu every Tuesday after that.
