Deadpool 3 may still be over seven months away. However, that hasn’t stopped eager fans from releasing unofficial set photos to the masses, spoiling major surprises in the film that have yet to be revealed. Ryan Reynolds is now requesting for the internet to have a little patience and respect for the upcoming Marvel movie.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool
Ryan Reynolds first portrayed Deadpool in the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), but the character’s treatment in that movie was widely criticized. However, Reynolds and the fans were determined to see a proper adaptation of Deadpool on the big screen.
After years of perseverance, Reynolds got another chance when a standalone Deadpool movie was greenlit.
In 2016, Deadpool hit theaters, and it became a massive success. The film’s R-rated humor, self-awareness, and Reynolds’ pitch-perfect character portrayal made for wildly entertaining fun.
Unlike traditional superhero movies, Deadpool embraced a more mature and comedic tone, earning it a special place among fans. It quickly got a sequel, Deadpool 2 (2018), which also was highly praised.
Deadpool Under Disney
Fast forward to Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, which owned the film rights to Deadpool. Fans were initially concerned about how Disney would handle the R-rated and edgy character. However, Ryan Reynolds, who is deeply invested in the role, assured fans that Deadpool’s essence would be preserved.
Disney decided to keep Deadpool‘s R-rated identity intact for future films, recognizing the character’s unique appeal. Deadpool 3 has been a Disney project for some time now, and footage of the movie’s film set has spread online several times this year.
Reynolds shocked fans when he announced a surprise return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the third installment. Furthermore, Jennifer Garner has been set to reprise her long-retired role as Elektra in the film. However, Reynolds has recently begged sites and social media users to keep unannounced and intrusive spoilers off the internet.
Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool 3
Reynolds commented on the recent set photo leaks on his Instagram story this week, begging for people to wait until the film releases and not post unofficial photos online.
Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies. It’s important for us to shoot the new Deadpool film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone.
Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready. The film is built for audience joy – and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the “good problems” bucket.
I love making this movie.
He then proceeded to troll fans on his social media with an altered image of a Predator in a set photo for Deadpool 3.
Deadpool began with a leak. So I’m joining in. But PLEASE don’t overuse the phrase, “Deadpool Leaks” because it might screw up search results if anyone is looking for Deadpool leaks or Deadpool spoilers or perhaps, Deadpool Scoops. #DeadpoolLeaks #DeadpoolSpoiler #DeadpoolScoop pic.twitter.com/yxZN8MslLn

When Ryan Reynolds makes a request, we should probably listen to him. Almost everyone loves the actor, and he has been nothing but excited for this third film.
Deadpool 3 was supposed to be released on May 3, 2024. However, the strikes over the summer have pushed back the date to July 26. The film is supposed to bring in a lot of characters from different generations and iterations in Marvel’s cinematic history. Fans are super thrilled for it.
