We totally get it: when you gotta go, you gotta go, and that doesn’t stop just because you’re visiting Walt Disney World. But that doesn’t mean we can go whenever and wherever we like; There are rules and strictures regarding this sort of thing!

If you didn’t think a public service announcement even had to be made about this, you’re not alone. We are just as dumbfounded about this as you are, dear reader.

Walt Disney World is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. Guests from all over the world come to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT to experience the famous Disney magic.

…But things aren’t always magical in Walt Disney World. Although the vacation destination is supposed to be a dream come true, certain situations can make it feel more like a nightmare come to life.

One anonymous guest recently took to social media to share a bizarre and surreal experience: a guest using the restroom on the floor of an attraction’s queue.

The social media post reads, “I am in the queue for [Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance] – someone let their kid take a dump on the floor and then they just walked out and left it- WTF?”

The comments immediately came flooding in, proving that this is, unfortunately, not as uncommon as anyone would hope.

An anonymous cast member commented on the post, writing, “For the skeptics… this actually happened. Fun fact: this was one of 3 [feces]-related incidents at Rise today. Less fun fact: I was here for all 3 of them.”

Another anonymous cast member added, “As a former [cast member], that’s not unusual, sad to say. We had people tell their kids to go potty behind our stand, even when the bathroom was across the way.”

Here at Disney Dining, we’ve reported on similar instances. In one crazy case, a family encouraged their little one to relieve themselves in the water of the classic “it’s a small world” attraction, even going so far as throwing the soiled toilet paper into the attraction’s water afterward.

But here at Disney Dining, we’ve also reported on which restrooms are the best in Walt Disney World, and there are a lot of restrooms to be found throughout the vacation destination.

Truthfully, there’s no real excuse for this kind of behavior. It’s understandable that children are bad at knowing when they’ve got to go until they absolutely cannot hold it any longer, and it’s no secret that they’re even worse at going in advance to avoid such a situation. But cast members also know this, which is why they’ll totally understand the panic that comes with a bathroom emergency.

That’s why guests should simply alert a cast member in the event of a restroom emergency, as they will help direct guests to the nearest Disney bathroom. They may even help them return to their spot in line afterward, too!

Using the restroom in an attraction queue isn’t just gross and inconsiderate; it’s downright dangerous! It spreads biological hazards into an enclosed, highly populated space. Then, as guests walk into these biological hazards, they spread them even further around.

So, here’s an official public service announcement: Please, please, please stop allowing this to happen on purpose. Instead, do the right thing and ask a cast member for help.

  1. Disney has cameras everywhere, facial recognition. I think those people should be thrown out of the park.
