Since its grand opening in 1971, Walt Disney World Resort has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions of guests from around the globe.

Disney World Resort is a popular tourist location seeing thousands of guests daily at their parks, which include Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. From time to time, Disney Park attractions have to close for updates and refurbishments.

Walt Disney World typically announces refurbishments and closures in advance. However, for this popular attraction located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney did not give guests a heads-up.

Disney announced that Walt Disney Presents would undergo refurbishment from February 12 to March 2. However, unexpectedly, Disney removed this attraction from the refurbishment calendar, leaving many puzzled. Walt Disney Presents, located in the Animation Courtyard, features displays and offers insights into Walt Disney’s life and the company’s history, including the documentary Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream.

While this attraction is closed off to guests, guests are still allowed to walk inside the first half of the gallery, but the showing of Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream is curtained off for guests at this moment.

Of course, this isn’t the only closure plaguing Disney’s Hollywood Studios currently. One popular attraction with an extended closure is the thrilling Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.

With all these closures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney World guests have fewer options as delays and unexpected closures happen occasionally during the day, as well. If you are planning your trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests should expect longer wait times due to fewer attractions being opened, coupled with the fact that the Disney World park has the fewest attractions of any Disney theme park to begin with.

Guests looking to maximize their time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can purchase Genie+ or Lighting Lane to shorten their wait times.

One of Disney World main reasons for closures is maintenance and refurbishment. With millions of guests flocking to the parks annually, the wear and tear on attractions and facilities are inevitable. To ensure the safety and functionality of rides and infrastructure, periodic maintenance is essential.

While temporary closures may cause disappointment for some guests, they are necessary to uphold Disney’s unwavering commitment to excellence and the safety of guests and cast members.

Is this closure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios going to affect your Disney vacation? Tell us about it in the comments below!

  1. This is literally my favorite attraction in all the parks… my daughter was laughing at me for crying watching it…. It’s amazing how he created all this for us to enjoy and set in place a tradition for generations to come. I hope they don’t take it away…: the parks are allowing so much of their magic already.

    • If you live anywhere near Northern Missouri, try to visit the
Walt Disney Museum in Merceline, Missouri. They even have TVs running old shows like Davy Crockett. There is a tree branch he sat under creating his ideas as a kid. Really touching.

  2. Now, I’m really glad I went back to see it last year. I had visited the Walt Disney Museum in Merceline, Missouri the year before. His story was fascinating, as was all the memorabilia. The upper floor had displays of all models of planned areas throughout the parks. Main Street, etc. After that visit, I just wanted more of the story.

  3. I will NEVER in my 70 years ion earth will NEVER go to any Disney facility. My life and money options tell to go elsewhere.
