Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Closed for Refurbishment
The popular Walt Disney World attraction is going down for refurbishment on January 8, 2024. Rides are periodically brought down at the theme park. However, this closure is notable for lasting well into 2024.
Brace yourselves because this fan-favorite roller coaster won’t be back in action until the summer of the same year.
For those who have been eagerly anticipating the rush of wind through their hair and the pulse-pounding beats of the rockin’ soundtrack, the news might come as a disappointment.
The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has long been a staple for adrenaline junkies visiting the park, making its hiatus a significant loss for those planning a trip to Florida in 2024.

Down Until Summer
Disney journalist Scott Gustin broke the news on Twitter/X. Disney originally didn’t announce a reopening date. This left many fans frustrated, especially if they had already planned for a vacation at the theme park early next year.

Gustin later reported that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is expected to reopen in summer 2024. This would mean the closure would last for almost half of 2024.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s extended closure is a bummer. However, the hiatus ensures the ride’s safety and optimal performance. The temporary closure allows for a comprehensive refurbishment, addressing wear and tear and incorporating enhancements to elevate the overall experience.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has seen some controversy recently. Some people have requested Disney change the attraction’s theme away from Aerosmith. Lead singer Steven Tyler has been involved more than one sexual assault allegation case, which has been problematic for Disney continuing to feature the band.

While the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster undergoes refurbishment, Disney’s Hollywood Studios visitors can explore various other attractions. There are many thrills to be had at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, featuring experiences like Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Sunset Boulevard still has the allure of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Land provides family-friendly fun with Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania.
