It’s true that Disney isn’t exactly known for its Christmas-specific songs. But when you’re as obsessed as we are here at Disney Dining, you turn everything into Disney-specific. We love everything about Disney at Christmastime. The Parks become somehow more magical than during the rest of the year. The TV specials and movies are works of art. We have such a fun time finding the songs that stick out and singing them all season long. Indulge us for a moment, won’t you? Let’s go through our favorite Disney Christmas songs and celebrate the season together.

“I Really Don’t Hate Christmas” – Phineas and Ferb

We will forever shout this song from the rooftops. Man, we love this show. In the Christmas special of Phineas and Ferb, Dr. Doofenshmirtz is all bothered about the fact that he doesn’t hate Christmas. But he feels like as an evil scientist, he should hate the holiday. So he spends the whole day trying to hate Christmas, with some help from Perry the Platypus. Our favorite moment in the song comes when he starts a kick line with his backup dancers that appear out of thin air.

“Ring in the Season” – Frozen

We love the Frozen special! Olaf’s Frozen Adventure brings us just a little bit more of Arendelle, which is really all we wanted for Christmas. In this adorable short, we get to see how Anna, Elsa, and Olaf spend Christmas in the castle! This short features an original song called “Ring in the Season,” which is a joyful, celebratory jingle. We really love any excuse to hear Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell sing. Plus, Frozen is such a wintery movie anyway. Hence…Frozen.

“Something in the Air” – High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Never in our lives did we think we would put a song from “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” on a favorite anything list. But here we are. We love this show! And these songs! The original songs from the TV show based off of the hit Disney Channel franchise are surprisingly amazing. This cute Christmas song is so cute! It features the whole cast running through the halls of East High singing merrily at the top of their lungs. They’re all donned in their ugliest Christmas sweaters and are clearly as happy as they can be!

“We Wish You a Merry Christmas” – Disney Holiday Celebration CD

As you well know, we are suckers for anything Disney or Mickey or magic or whatever! So clearly we are in love with this song off of Disney’s Holiday Celebration CD. This CD came out years ago and didn’t get particularly popular or well known, but we still appreciate it. It’s absolutely hysterical to hear Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and the rest of the gang singing this classic Christmas carol. None of them are necessarily the best singers out there, but somehow that makes the whole thing that much more endearing!

“One More Sleep ‘Til Christmas” – Muppet Christmas Carol

Want a Disney Christmas song that will make you cry? Try listening to literally any song from the Muppet Christmas Carol. That movie comes on and we are complete goners. What a brilliant film. Brian Henson followed in his dad’s footsteps and created this Christmas classic. The movie, starring Michael Caine as Scrooge and The Muppets as the Dickens’ characters, gives an almost faithful rendition of the beloved novel. And the music makes it. The music is sweet, thought-provoking, meaningful, and gorgeous – even when it’s sung by Kermit. The first big song Kermit sings is “One More Sleep ‘Til Christmas,” and it gets us every time.

“Christmas is Starting Now” – Phineas and Ferb

Back to the world of Danville! Once Phineas and Ferb and their friends saved the day from the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz, obviously, it was time to party! This song is upbeat and fun and perfect for dancing. The festive song is by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, which we believe has played in EPCOT before. We love the Christmas montage as the song plays and being able to see all of our favorite characters wrapped up in the Christmas spirit!

“The Perfect Gift” – High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Never in our lives did we think we’d have TWO High School Musical songs on a list, but here we are again! This song is the sweetest thing to ever exist. In the Christmas episode of season 2, the main character Ricky writes a song as a Christmas gift to his girlfriend, Nini. Listen to these lyrics: “The perfect gift that I could give, To the perfect gift that ever lived, Yeah, this song’s the second best that I could do, When the perfect gift is you.” Come on! Ridiculously cute. We’re obsessed.

“Candlelight Overture” – Disney’s Candlelight Processional

If you’ve ever been to EPCOT during the holidays, you might have heard of something called the Candlelight Processional. This glorious production features a massive choir and orchestra and a celebrity narrator that tells the story of the first-ever Christmas. This show is phenomenal and beautiful. We love to go any chance we get. The music fills you up and instantly sets you into the Christmas spirit.
