It’s finally the spookiest time of year, well, almost. But Orlando-based theme parks still need to get into the Halloween fun early. Although Disney World is well underway with their Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, their neighbor, Universal Studios Orlando, is gearing up for the scariest Halloween event in Florida, Halloween Horror Nights. Although not really appropriate for children, Halloween Horror Nights is a top-rated offering annually, and the hype surrounding this year’s event has been building since the last spooky season. Unlike years past, Universal wasted no time announcing the first theme for one of the many haunted houses scattered across the property during Halloween Horror Nights. On the heels of the culmination of the 31st year, Universal let everyone know that big things were coming in 2023, announcing a Chucky-themed house.
Fans immediately were excited as the murderous doll, made famous in the late 80s and early 90s Chucky films, seemed like a perfect fit amongst the several haunted houses and scare zones at Halloween Horror Nights 32. Since then, Universal has added other themed houses based on Stranger Things, The Exorcist, and Dr. Oddfellow, only adding to the excitement of the original announcement of Chucky. Fans will not only get to live out their scariest moments, but they’ll also be able to get their hands on exclusive merchandise related to individual haunted houses, and they’ve been waiting anxiously for the Chucky-drop.
To much fanfare, Universal finally gave a sneak peek at the exclusive Chucky popcorn bucket visitors to Halloween Horror Nights can purchase. However, this isn’t your average Figment-style bucket at Disney World; it moves, lights up, and is a horror fan’s dream come true. Twitter user @cristalandchris shared a first-look of the moving popcorn bucket, and it is absolutely terrifying.

In addition to the Chucky popcorn bucket, it seems that the popular Frankenstein bucket from last year will also appear at Halloween Horror Nights 32, as well as a sugar skull popcorn bucket. One thing is for sure: HHN 2023 is gearing up to be one of the best ones yet. Beginning Labor Day weekend, guests to Universal Orlando (who have purchased tickets) can step into the fog and get ready for scares that’ll last a lifetime.
