It’s official, Dwayne Johnson is one of the nicest people on the planet. The Moana star pretty much lives in the public eye, but unlike many other celebrities, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson constantly finds himself in the praise of fans. Johnson has been called a “joy to be around”, as friends, family, and fans who’ve met the superstar have nothing bad to say about the guy! Watching Dwayne during his public appearances makes it easy to notice how approachable and likable he is. This likely carries a heavy weight, but as many media outlets consistently include him on their “Hollywood’s Nicest Celebrities” lists, we wanted to take a deeper dive and look at why Dwayne Johnson is seriously one of the nicest people ever!
Dwayne Johnson Insists on Using His Celebrity Status for Good

“The kindest man in Hollywood” isn’t a simple pleasantry when discussing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Through his longstanding career, which includes a stent in professional wrestling in the WWE, as well as a favorable acting career (titles of note Black Adam, Free Guy, Fast & Furious, Jumanji), the Jungle Cruise star has many instances of note where he’s gone above and beyond. It isn’t uncommon to hear tales of Johnson even using his status as an A-list celebrity for the betterment of others. One instance of the 50-year-old actor’s generosity can be seen via his own Instagram, where Johnson shows his mother’s reaction to a home he purchased for her.
“I surprised my mom and bought her a new home. Took me and my design team eight weeks to get it ready, where she could walk through her front door for the very first time and everything she saw was brand new and a total surprise.”He continued: “I’ve been lucky enough to have bought her a few homes over the years, but this one is special as she’s told me over and over these past few years, ‘After a lifetime of travelling, I want this home to be my last. That’s my dream. Mom, there’s no greater feeling than to make you happy-welcome home.”
Johnson is notoriously given, especially with his family. He’s also an active member of Make-a-Wish campaigns and heads up several other foundations or organizations aimed at personal health and helping children. The Rock is also a prominent veteran supporter. He even hosted an event, “Rock the Troops,” back in 2016. The show honored over 50,000 Hawaiian military members and their families.

One of our favorite stories about Dwayne Johnson is his interaction with singer Adele at the 2023 Grammys. Upon discovering that the singer was a massive fan of his, he insisted on surprising her! As it turns out, Dwayne Johnson is also a huge fan of Adele’s and could barely contain his excitement as he snuck up behind the vocalist and gave her the biggest surprise! Johnson insists that he has always wanted to meet Adele and referred to after the show as his “new best friend.”

“I know that she is a very big fan of mine and has made that clear publicly many times. But I’ve got to tell you, I am a huge fan of hers, as well. Her music, her journey, her openness and directness in how she speaks. I’ve always admired that about her. We were trying to figure out something to do that was going to be fun and surprise her, and we had kicked around ideas all week.” Johnson explained.
Dwayne Johnson Genuinely Enjoys Interacting with Fans

A lot of celebrities tolerate their fans. We get it; dealing with so many frantic people daily can be overwhelming. I mean, we don’t get it, but we can imagine how frustrating that could be. Dwayne Johnson doesn’t let this derail him and instead often embraces fan interactions. Social media is full of stories of fans’ encounters and highly positive experiences with the superstar. The Rock seems as humble as they come and appreciates the people that keep him in demand.

One particular story of note is a group of fans that noticed Johnson while driving to the gym. They were able to stop and ask him to attend a workout with them. Of course, he did! There are many similar stories about The Rock and how he goes out of his way to ensure fans have a pleasurable encounter with him.
Dwayne Johnson Is Vulnerable and Advocates for Mental Health

It’s tough for some celebrities to open up and be vulnerable. When we look at Dwayne Johnson, it’s difficult to imagine someone who seemingly has it all struggling. Not to mention the guy is enormous! However, Johnson has been very vocal about specific issues he’s dealt with in his life and career, specifically depression.
In a recent interview with People Magazine, Johnson had this to say, “I was an only child, and I was always a better listener than I was a communicator in terms of sharing my feelings, and I feel like the most important thing, obviously, is communicating and realizing that asking for help when you’re down and you’re feeling wobbly or when you’re depressed is actually the most powerful thing you can do. Asking for help is not a weakness.“
Mental Health carries a stigma with it, especially for men. Johnson advocates heavily to break those barriers to mental health care, and we love him even more for it.
“Asking for help is not a weakness. As a matter of fact, asking for help is our superpower, and men, especially us, we fall into this trap of being really adverse to vulnerability, because we always want to be strong and feel like we can take on the world.” Johnson says.
Johnson is very open and passionate about the topic of depression and often uses his own life experiences to illustrate the issue’s significance. If someone like him can suffer, so can I, or so can you! This definitely is a big mark in his “nicest guy in Hollywood” checklist.

These are a few examples of why Hollywood considers “The Rock” in such high regard. There are several other personality traits that Johnson possesses that make him a stand-out figure for those in the public eye. We didn’t even mention how hilarious the guy is – just ask Kevin Hart. The fact that The Rock is such a nice guy really standsout when you consider that he started his entertainment career as a wrestler along side names such as Steve Austin, John Cena, and the Undertaker. Despite being WWE Champion, Johnson found a way to remain humble and kind. Given these very few examples, it’s simple to see that Dwayne Johnson loves his job and loves his fans. Even better, he is a man who wants to use his status to leave a lasting legacy that makes the world a better place, and we thankful to him for it!
