The Disney Parks are about to have new Princess Ariel meet-and-greet opportunities! Starting in late May, Park Guests will be able to meet Ariel from the upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid, portrayed by Halle Bailey. Official meet and greets will begin sometime around the film’s theatrical release, which is on May 26.
Of course, guests can still meet Ariel as she appears in the 1989 animated classic starring Jodi Benson.

Currently, you can meet the original Ariel at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida in Ariel’s Grotto, and see her in Magic Kingdom’s Festival of Fantasy Parade as well as Hollywood Studio’s nighttime show, Fantasmic!. At Disneyland Resort in California, you can often catch her at the Royal Hall in Fantasy Faire and Fantasmic! as well.
As for the new live-action-based Ariel meet and greets, reports say you will be able to meet her in both Parks! At Walt Disney World find her at Walt Disney Presents in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For Disneyland Resort, she will meet “along the promenade near It’s a Small World.”
From Disneyland Paris:
Guests can share an interactive and fun experience with the character Ariel, from the live-action story, as she invites everyone at Walt Disney Studios Park to join a joyful, limited-time celebration in honor of the new movie release.
It seems the live-action Princess Ariel based on Bailey’s portrayal will have a limited engagement in the Parks in celebration and promotion of the film’s debut. Guests will have to act fast if they want to meet Ariel in her live-action form before she leaves the Parks for good!
