Recent reports had many speculating that famous and controversial rapper Kanye West was involved in a battery incident that occurred during his Disneyland visit.
While the news we have to report from the Disney Parks is usually about the magical and wondrous happenings at either the Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort, occasionally, there is news of a more shocking nature to report.
We have all heard of uncouth behavior at the parks, be that from guests or occasionally even from cast members. Guests have been known to pick fights with fellow visitors and shouting obscenities at Disney cast members. Some have even disrupted rides by jumping out of ride vehicles while an attraction is in operation.
And, this isn’t just ordinary guests. Even celebrities who experience a lot of media attention and spend inordinate amounts of time in the limelight are susceptible to this and have been known to behave badly at the Disney Parks. Cast members have shared a lot of inside information about which celebrities are the “rudest.”
What is rare, though, is a celebrity being under investigation by a police department for their actions at a Disney Park. Recently, controversial rapper Kanye West was reported to be under investigation for punching a man who “pushed or grabbed” his wife, Bianca Censori.
As Pubity shared, “The altercation occurred at Disneyland, where Ye and Censori were enjoying the park with others. This isn’t the first legal issue for Ye, who has faced lawsuits in the past, including accusations of assault.”
But did this altercation really happen? And is Kanye West actually under investigation by the LAPD? We at Disney Dining jumped in to investigate.

Per the timeline of events, on April 16, Tuesday, Kanye West allegedly punched a man who, per varying reports, bumped into, or grabbed, his wide, Bianca Censori.
Now, West has been in the news multiple times over, whether for his feud with popstar Taylor Swift (who is currently enjoying the release of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, the success of The Eras Tour, and her swoon-worthy romance with footballer Travis Kelce) or for his split from ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
This is also not the first time he’s faced lawsuits, including accusations of assault.
So, what’s the truth with these latest accusations?
As reported by Los Angeles Magazine, the rapper is confirmed to be under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department for battery and assault. The story was reported on by various gossip outlets that corroborated the news.
However, the incident that was assumed to have happened at the Disneyland Resort is not true. Many fans presumed this because West and his wife were photographed earlier in the day at the Southern California Disney Resort.
In reality, this assault and battery actually took place at Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip later on in the night.
Additionally, West’s Chief of Staff Milo Yiannopoulos shared a statement with The Mirror that clarified that Bianca Censori wasn’t merely “bumped into” by the assailant.

“The assailant didn’t merely collide into her,” added Yiannopoulos. “He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses. She was battered and sexually assaulted.”
Finally, according to TMZ, West not only punched the wrong twin, but his story is also wildly “off-base” and “simply not accurate,” per eyewitness accounts.
