The Jurassic Park franchise has always found ways to captivate audiences with its blend of thrilling dinosaur action and cutting-edge visuals. From Steven Spielberg’s groundbreaking 1993 original to the more recent Jurassic World series, the saga has redefined cinematic spectacle.
Now, with the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) promising to introduce a “new Jurassic era,” excitement for the franchise is reaching new heights.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One), with a screenplay by David Koepp (Jurassic Park), the film stars Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey in lead roles, ensuring a thrilling new blockbuster experience.
But while fans eagerly await Rebirth, the game “Jurassic Park: Survival” is set to take players back to the original Isla Nublar setting.
Set 24 hours after the events of the 1993 film, the game puts players in the shoes of InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who must navigate a dinosaur-infested island to survive. Among its many nostalgic elements, the official trailer prominently features one of the electric Jungle Explorers (AKA Ford Explorers, or Toyota Land Cruisers as they’re known in the novel)—a vehicle synonymous with the original film’s ill-fated tour.
While one of the vehicles was spectacularly destroyed by the T-Rex in the film, this surviving Jungle Explorers offers a tantalizing glimpse of nostalgia and continuity. Whether players can use it as a mode of transportation remains a mystery. However, if operational, it could provide a thrilling way to traverse the island, though its on-rails design might limit exploration.
Alternatively, players may need to rely on gas-powered jeeps, as seen in the film, for more flexible travel.

Beyond the Jungle Explorers, “Jurassic Park: Survival” boasts a fully realized Isla Nublar for players to explore. Confirmed locations include additional dinosaur paddocks, underground bunkers, and the Safari Lodge hotel, a luxurious structure featured in Michael Crichton’s novel.
Each area presents unique challenges—bunkers could provide refuge from predators, while the abandoned lodge might hold hidden dangers in its deserted corridors.

In addition to revisiting familiar attractions, the game may expand on unused elements from Crichton’s original book and the film’s lore. These could include unbuilt attractions or unseen parts of the park. The underground tunnel network, previously explored in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, is also likely to play a significant role in navigation.
With no official release date yet, anticipation for “Jurassic Park: Survival” continues to build. How will you choose to survive Isla Nublar’s perils? Share your thoughts in the comments!
