‘Jurassic Park’ Sequel: Every Original Character Likely To Return

The Jurassic Park franchise has been a beloved staple of pop culture since the release of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster. From its groundbreaking effects to its unforgettable characters, the film set the stage for a multi-decade exploration of the consequences of bringing dinosaurs back to life.

Now, with the announcement of the upcoming video game “Jurassic Park: Survival”, fans are eagerly speculating which original characters might make an appearance.

Set 24 hours after the events of the first film, “Jurassic Park: Survival” follows Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist trapped on Isla Nublar in the chaotic aftermath of the park’s collapse. While the focus is on new survival challenges, there’s plenty of opportunity to revisit the franchise’s roots through returning characters.

Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler

Sam Neill’s Dr. Alan Grant and Laura Dern’s Dr. Ellie Sattler were the heart of the original film, bringing expertise and bravery to their harrowing journey through the park. Though they safely evacuated Isla Nublar, their presence could still be felt in “Jurassic Park: Survival”.

Flashbacks, voice logs, or documents might recount their experiences and provide Dr. Maya Joshi with critical insights. Grant’s paleontological expertise and Sattler’s knowledge of Isla Nublar’s unique ecosystem would tie the game’s narrative firmly to the original film.

Dr. Ian Malcolm

Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Ian Malcolm became an instant icon, blending sharp wit with profound warnings about the dangers of genetic tampering. Injured during the events of Jurassic Park, Malcolm left Isla Nublar early, but his observations could resonate in “Jurassic Park: Survival”.

Players might find recordings or written commentary reflecting on the park’s collapse, adding intellectual depth to the game’s story while paying homage to the character’s philosophical musings.

Ray Arnold, played by Samuel L. Jackson, delivered one of the film’s most memorable lines: “Hold onto your butts.” His fate was implied but not shown, making him a prime candidate for exploration in “Jurassic Park: Survival”.

Players could uncover logs detailing his last attempts to regain control of the park’s systems, shedding light on the engineer’s final moments and adding an emotional layer to the gameplay.
