It’s hard to think of too many times when the country has been more politically divided than it is now. Politics seems to have seeped into every aspect of our daily lives. Some people can’t even enjoy their Walt Disney World Resort vacation because the Hall of Presidents attraction has become a hotbed of controversy. We are just 90 days away from the presidential election, and every day, we hear something new, something crazy, or something that might divide us even more.

On July 21, President Joe Biden announced that he was ending his presidential reelection campaign and threw his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris. Since then, Vice President Harris’s campaign has raised more than $200 million, and more than 170,000 people have volunteered.

Recently, there have been a number of Zoom calls as part of the fundraising effort. Tens of thousands of people have participated in these calls, even leading to the Zoom CEO getting involved so he could make the site able to accommodate everyone.

On Monday, July 29, White Dudes For Harris hosted a call, and the event included some seriously notable names.

The highlight of the call was an appearance by Disney star and acting legend, Jeff Bridges. Over the years, Bridges has appeared in several Disney films, including Tron (1982), Tron: Legacy (2010), and the upcoming Tron: Ares (2025). He is also a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having played Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger in Iron Man (2008).

Of course, Bridges is best known for his role as “The Dude” in the 1998 cult classic The Big Lebowski. And since the Zoom call was called “White Dudes For Harris”, who better to show up than THE Dude himself?!

On the call, Bridges said:

“I accepted the invitation and I was brought to the party not so much as being white, and I certainly am, but because I’m a dude, you know, I qualify, man. I’m white, I’m a dude, and I’m for Harris.”

He also expressed his excitement at the prospect of a black woman becoming President of the United States.

“I’m excited, man. I think the fact that Joe has passed the baton so beautifully, I can see her being president. I’m so excited. A woman president, man. How exciting! You know, and her championing of women’s rights — for that, and for her stance on the environment, and taking care of our children, you know, all of her leadership on that is wonderful. And something that I can get behind in support.”

Bridges is not the only Disney star who appeared on the call, either. Frozen (2013) and Beauty and the Beast (2017) star Josh Gad also jumped in and backed the Vice President.

Josh Gad NAILED IT on the White Dudes for Kamala Harris call.

“They have Kid Rock, Kevin Sorbo and a dolphin aficionado. We have the Hulk, Samwise Gamgee, Luke Skywalker, and Mayor Pete. That’s pretty damn cool!”

Star Wars acting legend Mark Hamill, who has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump, was also on the call. Hamill encouraged everyone to learn more about Project 2025, which he said was scarier than anything ever written by Edgar Allan Poe and Stephen King.

The lovely Mark Hamill @MarkHamill tells White Dudes for Kamala Harris that he wants you to make sure you’re registered to vote!

On Project 2025:

“It’s more terrifying than anything Edgar Allan Poe or Stephen King ever wrote.”

“Never has it been more important for us to stand up against his mental illness.”

The “White Dudes For Harris” call lasted about 90 minutes, and in that time, they managed to raise more than $3 million for the Harris campaign. Shortly after their call began going viral, the “White Dudes” official X (formerly Twitter) account was suspended. However, after a ton of backlash and accusations of retaliation, the account was reinstated.

Many believed that the account was suspended because Elon Musk — who owns X — does not like Kamala Harris and has voiced his support for former President Trump.

  1. I saw that on TV and thought how pathetic some of those white dudes sounded.
Yes, I am a registered voter
    Yes, I am white
No, I am not a dude
and No, I will not be backing Harris. What she did to my state of California has been nothing more than criminal. She is the one that said no prosecution if the theft is not over $975, and the theft rate in our state has gone out of control. We see it daily here in our stores. Order a sandwich, take it and walk out. Fill a basket full of groceries and walk right out of the store, load their car, and drive away laughing. Makes me sick to my stomach. And don’t forget the tax payer dollars she got for the inmates that wanted gender changing surgeries on our hard earned $$$. That is NOT the person I want in charge of our country.

  2. White dudes for Harris, are a bunch of losers and they should be ashamed of themselves. She is Jamaican and Pakistan. Iam sick of these people who say they are black, to when it suits what they want. Like Obama, his mother was white, so how is he black, it’s called malotto. I wouldn’t vote for a traitor of American people, liar, a murder of unborn children, and an uneducated clueless person if u paid me!

  3. Harris will give this country away if she wins.Whats wroong with you people.Hollywood is backing Harris. They just dont kbow what is going to happen if Carmella wins.Trump made sure we were safe and had jobs.Open yor eyes and ears.We cannot let the democrats give OUR country away !!

  4. I will never understand why people are so eager to follow what the rich Hollywood elite have to say. We need Trump!! Whether you like him as a person or not, he is the better person for the job. He will close our borders, improve our economy/inflation, protect our retirements, build our military, create jobs, help us become more energy independent, make other countries respect us – the list goes on and on. Harris will continue down the same Biden path, deteriorating our country.

  5. Stars I used to admire and love now I can’t stand the thought of them. Who would’ve thought these people are so ignorant and blind. I’m so sad that this country has come to what it is but it will be much worse if Harris is president. She’s a disgrace and a stupid one at that. To think that people that are supposed to be so intelligent are backing this lying, cackling fool is beyond the realm of thought.

  6. I don’t care about who celebrities vote for, and neither should you. If a celebrity is influencing your vote, it might be worth re-evaluating whether you’re ready to vote at all. The question isn’t about which candidate we personally like more or who seems to care about us. The real question is: who has the better policies?

We’ve seen both candidates in action—Donald Trump as President four years ago, and Kamala Harris, part of the current administration, along with the Democratic Party leading for 12 of the last 16 years. So, let’s consider: when were we the safest? When did we have the strongest economy? When did we experience the most prosperity? Was it during Trump’s term, or under the Biden/Harris administration?

Neither of these candidates is without flaws. Both have been involved in scandals, and neither genuinely cares about you. One may be more polished, while the other is more blunt. But if you’re seeking strong moral character, you won’t find it in either candidate. So, character aside, which one has governed better? I think the answer is clear, and I don’t need any Disney “star” or celebrity to help me decide.
