It still doesn’t feel real. As we prepared to ring in the New Year on December 31, 2021, we learned the news that the beloved actress, comedian, and Disney Legend, Betty White, had passed away at the age of 99. With so much buzz surrounding Betty, a Starbucks secret menu item, the “Betty White Frappuccino”, has been created, and we’re here for it.

While it’s not a shock to hear of a 99-year-old passing away, Betty White was seemingly timeless with her youthful, spirited personality. Betty was best known for her roles as Sue Ann Nivens on the television series The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls, and Elka Ostrovsky on Hot in Cleveland. Us Disney fans also remember her as a Disney Legend which she was named in 2009.
At Betty’s passing, former Disney CEO Bob Iger was quoted saying, “Rest in peace Betty White, our Golden Girl, our friend, and our neighbor. Your wit, your charm, your warmth, and your smile will always be with us.”
Most recently, Betty White fans are taking to social media to invite everyone to donate to a local animal charity or shelter on January 17, 2022, in honor of what would have been Betty’s 100th birthday. Why? Betty absolutely loved animals and donated regularly to animal shelters. Well, we also plan to swing by Starbucks to celebrate Betty’s day.
