No doubt about it, Walt Disney World is THE Most Magical Place on Earth, guaranteeing each guest a unique experience from the moment they set foot on property until they reenter the real world again. That being said, that doesn’t mean things can’t go wrong at Walt Disney World Resort. Unfortunately, things can go wrong all the time. People can get hurt, vacations can be interrupted by maintenance, testing, storms, and more.
Most commonly, attractions can go down at a moment’s notice, disappointing hundreds of guests and even wasting some guests’ time.

However, this weekend was especially bad for guests visiting Hollywood Studios. One by one, the most popular theme park attractions went down, with some closures lasting the entire day.
It was so disappointing that one guest took to social media, asking Disney World veterans about the possibility of getting a refund from the theme park.

They wrote, “We arrived at Hollywood Studios today and most of the main attractions we wanted to do have been closed to due to technical issues for a few hours already.”
The attractions in question were the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Toy Story Mania.

They continued, writing, “I am not feeling super optimistic about them opening for the rest of the day. This is super disappointing…has this happened to anyone else here?”
The title of their post reads, “Has anyone gotten compensation for closed rides?” As you can imagine, the comments dashed the dreams of a refund almost immediately.

If there’s one thing Walt Disney World Resort ISN’T known for, it’s refunds.
It’s no secret that Walt Disney World Resort wants as much money as possible from guests. While each Cast Member will do everything in their power to make things as magical as possible when something goes wrong, a refund is almost always off the table.
If something goes wrong while you’re visiting Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or EPCOT, be sure to visit Guest Services or Guest Relations, who will point you in the correct direction and help solve your problem.
